What can you consider deviant?
Do you see deviance as a negative behavior? Why or why not?
Are you deviant?

well, if we would describe a deviant as someone who violates social norms, i guess i am one.
deviance is not bad. goodness is subjective, since different people have different views on stuff. rules were out up to maintain order in a particular setting. let's just respect it na lang...

To me, deviant are those behaviors that depart/deviate from limits that, in our minds, determine what is 'normal' or expected -- overconforming and underconforming.
Do I see it as negative behavior? Nope.
Why? Because I'm not an absolutist. Deviance, as I see it, is a relative term without universal meaning -- even negative deviant behavior isn't absolutely negative.
Am I deviant? Yup.

Just for the sake of this discussion, I will deviate from the rest and say "NO, I AM NOT A DEVIANT..."
But of course... Well, you know....

the paradox of this thread:
wouldn't a collection of deviants such as the people who gather here claiming to be deviants in fact lose their deviant status because deviance in this case would collectively become a norm? and by the same process, those who say they are not deviants actually become deviants because they stray from this norm? so for one to remain a deviant in this case and still be able to proclaim his deviance in this thread, one must first deny his deviant status by claiming not to be deviant - an act which is, in itself, deviant because one would then be lying - and by that means will gain deviant status because one would then have gone against the norms of both claiming to be deviant and telling the truth.
therefore...
i am not a deviant.
ok.. my head hurts..
