Full Version: ADMU-University of Visayas Rematch
Welcome to Atenista.Net! > Sports and Athletics > Ateneo Blue Eagles
sax
The University of Visayas had just won their EIGHTH straight CESAFI title. Greg Slaughter has greatly improved and was named the league MVP. Ateneo on the other hand had just won their fourth UAAP title, while having our own greatly improved MVP center.

Will our Blue Eagles make a repeat of last year's 17 point win against UV or will the Cebuanos defeat the Blue Eagles if ever they'll meet again in the PCCL tournament? What are your thoughts on this?

I do not know about winning by 17 points but I am confident that Slaughter and company will not score 60 points against Ateneo.

I believe Ateneo will win pulling away.

The reason UV got as far as they did last year was because of the Pumaren brothers. Franz did not want to risk exposing that chamba lang, compliments of our loss to NU, ang pagkapanalo nila. Dindo and UE were insulted that Ateneo was seeded ahead of them and refused to participate in the tournament. Our bracket was much tougher and when we won our semifinal game, that was it.

If we do play, it will be a very good preview of what we can do without Chris and Yuri.

Chris and Yuri will still play in the Philippine Collegiate Championships since they haven't graduated.

The pre-season tourneys next year will be a good preview to see how we will do without Chris and Yuri.

About the possible rematch with UV; Rabeh and Slaughter will cancel each other out and Buenafe will be the x-factor. Blue Eagles by at least 10. Of course we still have to get past our assignments.

By the way, our bracket is not as tough as last year we have JRU and are still waiting the results of the other regional matches (FYI Ateneo de Zamboanga bagged Region 9 - not sure where they will be bracketed). The other side of the bracket seems tougher with DLRT, San Beda, and UV bunched together. The Blue Eagles have to take advantage of a possible weaker bracket to repeat as National Champs.
