Nothing new really... Just wondering how other people deal with change/s. We all have our own demons to face and deal with - day in and day out!

For starters, mine would be... *sigh*... cutting classes. Quitting smoking, that's another. Well, I don't bite my fingernails but I feel like biting them all off every time I try to figure out how to kill unwanted old habits. Which leads to a simple yet profound conclusion: thinking won't do any good if nothing is done.

Old habits do die hard. Sorry for the inescapable cliché! biggrin.gif

What's yours? Shoot!

this hard habit that i'm trying so hard to get rid of is being so hopeful about things.
i know it isn't all that bad right but when it makes you look so desperate its totally a different story.

great topic smile.gif

I'm a chronic procrastinator.

I should change that, really. I'm trying to, and I'm on the brink of giving up. I'm gonna quote Al Pacino's character in Scent of a Woman. He said, "You know why?! Because it's so... damn... HARD."

TOUCHE!

I can't say anything really profound about this matter although I could enumerate alll of my old habits that I know I should get rid off.

Admittingly, I would have to say those old habits of mine are really easy to change but I choose not to... mainly because I like its fleeting pleasure. Everybody yearns for an easy life, that's a fact. Likewise, life is hard. The tendency to escape reality is nothing but a cover of an unhappy life that a person is leading... sad but true.

So yes, I am unhappy. But luckily I have friends that I get strength from... but knowing that they're not far behind and somehow are treading the same old sh*t or rather are going through the same thing as I am...it feels good to know that I am not alone.

Anyway... I was suppose to post a similar thread now I'm having second thoughts. Well... will see! It maybe different.

I do agree, it's a good thread. Splendid! Kudos! wink.gif

*purple* and SoPHist, glad you like the topic! smile.gif

Cami, never give up! Allow me to quote Al Pacino (as Tony D'Amato in Any Given Sunday)... one of my favorites: “You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game – life or football – the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second."

SoPHist darling, you are most definitely not alone. Throw away the unhappiness and celebrate life. I'm pretty sure that if you set your mind to it, you're going to get it. wink.gif

Al Pacino again, w00t! biggrin.gif

Anyway, I'm not giving up on it. I'm just close to getting there. Close -- though ultimately, not quite there yet.
