Hi CJ00!! I am also a recent graduate of MIS batch 2000..am in chicago right now. I also had the same problem when it comes for looking for a job since most companies are looking for people with experience. For the time being, I suggest that you sign up for an agency first and then they will be one who will look for a suitable job for you.That's how I got my first job. I will be starting this Wednesday, so wish me luck! =)

anwys job hunting is fine, pero yung mga IT interviews ko talaga hindi galing sa temp agencies but doon with companies i actually applied for. ive been going to career fairs din and that really helped a lot.

buti ka pa dami nagreply sa iyo sa mga companies na pinagapplyan mo. Through email lang kasi nagpapadala ng mga resume..dapat ba fina-follow up iyun sa phone? hindi ko kasi alam eh! Kaya for the mean time na wala pa akong job offer talaga eh nagapply na muna ako sa agency. So far ok naman work. Masaya iyung mga tao and it's a great experience. Pero syempre iba pa rin iyung full time work di ba.. =) henge naman ako tips ako sa pagappply mo sa jobs para makakuha ako ng mga calls!! ;D

i think naging classmates tayo kay Doc Y sa ITM.. i think!

earning dollars is wella and good, but do you know the cost of living here? jeezus, i was looking at a place near san jose, ca this past weekend. it costs $1600 a month for a frikken studio! and $200 more for a 1-bedroom. and don't even get me started on gas prices here...

yup, gas prices are really high... i spend almost $20 a week just for gas.... considering that i just drive going to work and coming back home... im also in CA right now pero southern cal... anybody in this area too? =)

wow..i didnt know that the cost of living in CA is that high.. apartments here in chicago cost less.. a 2 bedroom apartment with 1 bathroom, kitchen and living room is only
$900, and i thought that was expensive!! But I kinda like the weather in CA better than here..coz it's starting to get really cold now. bbbbrr!!!!

hey chilipep. yeah, it's nuts around here. i think the cost of living is lower in socal, like around l.a. but the frisco bay area is nuts. it's $2 a gallon of 89 octane gas, $4.50 for a pack of cigarettes, rent, i just explained... man, almost makes me forget that this is the best weather in the world

Hi, I'm in Montreal right now and in less than a month I'm headin' home to sunny SoCal!!! I know what u mean by the high prices down there for rent. Have u guys tried Orange County? It might be the most Republican county in Cali, but the prices aren't as bad as LA county.

been temporarily assigned at shannon airport twice last year but only for brief moments...i'm with us immigration and we pre-clear US-bound Aer Lingus flights to the US...it's a pretty hard detail to get because everyone seems to like that assignment...there's a long-list...so what do you do over? you're just like a Basque in the middle of the Aleutians...i have to admit though, the cliffs are quite captivating..

i've been here in japan since september for an exchange program. currently working part-time as a project assistant for a start-up IT firm in tokyo.

love it here pero uwing-uwi na ako. can't wait to come back sa pinas ng july. pero still don't know what to do with my life after i come back home.
