Both schools would be welcome additions to the UAAP IMO. Both schools excel in sports and can raise the standards of competition in the UAAP -- which is good for sports development. The more, the merrier.

But what will happen to the NCAA if both schools move to the UAAP?

if that will happen, i think NCAA will probably be left very far behind from UAAP. The schools which will be left are less active in sports and some are not that known comapred to the universities in UAAP.

It will probably be a hard time for ncaa to go back knowing that mapua jru and baste are the only old schools which would be left..

it's just so sad that the glamours of NCAA before will be forgotten.

i welcome their addition to the UAAP.. more competition, much better!

but unlike san beda, i don't think there has been any move by letran to leave the ncaa and move to the uaap... no manifestation of any intention or the slightest talk about the topic... (well none that i know of)

but just the same they're a welcome addition... especially san beda! hehe

Beda and Letran will need to become universities first.

Letran can't be a university because the Dominicans have UST already. Conflict of interest if you see that in the UAAP.

Letran and San Beda would be welcome additions to the UAAP. It would be nice to have strong and HONEST competition. Both schools have a winning tradition just like the Ateneo, not the winning-at-all-cost variety like what a suspended school espouses.

Letran is on its way to be a university. They could have done this earlier but for some reason are targetting 2010 in time for their 400th year of existence (established 1610). They are on a massive infrastructure build-up in Calamba and Bataan after UST has decided not to branch out themselves.

I doubt Letran will join UAAP because of the conflict of interest cited above. The Dominicans would like to have champion teams in both leagues. May marketing impact pag ganun.

I also doubt San Beda will leave the NCAA as it is the only founding member left.

Besides transferring to the UAAP is not that easy. It took La Salle several attempts before they were allowed to join the league. Binara kasi natin at ng UST "daw".

Indeed it would be nice to see the four ex- "exclusive boys schools" together again, of course sans the "rumble". With girls abounding in these institutions, na tame na din yung apat, he he he. Kaso dumani ata and third kind....
