Just recently I found out that rapper Jay-Z is actually half filipino! His mom is filipina. Now I've become interested in other pure- or part-filipino celebrities who have made it big internationally. Can anyone name a few?

I don't know other peeps with Filipino blood, but I do know some stars who have Chinese blood...
Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang from Smallville) has Chinese blood... Or so some profile's say

Lisa Scott-Lee (of STEPS) also has Chinese blood (surname, duh?) And her grandfather used to live in the Philippines before he went to Wales and met her grandmother... And according to her, when she was a kid, they visited the Philippines frequently... interesting...

Yes I am a Pixies fan. But I tend to view them as among the last holdovers of the New Wave era (ex. Llyod Cole, Elvis Costello, Ian McCullogh, etc.) rather than an paving the way for the Nirvanas and Pearl Jams that followed. These fellows refined the art of New Wave - keeping its melodic/balladic flavor but doing away with the vagueness.
I remember watching in a TV show that it's Kirk Hammett, not Lars, who's half-Filipino.

Ms. Tomita's mother is Japanese-Filipino. How much of that means she is "full-blooded Japanese" but grew up in the Philippines or acquired citizenship, or whether she is half-Filipino, half-Japanese, I do not know.

Kristin Kreuk rules! She is half-Chinese, half-Dutch. I am president of the NYC midtown chapter of the Smallville Fan Club (with a membership of five, he he).
