these shows are soooo nice and i was just wondering why they don't have followings of their own... imagine, mas sikat pa yung "Meteor Garden"...
"Alias" is, hands down, the BEST show on TV right now... everything is perfect...writing, acting, directing, effects, everything!... i've seen the entire 2nd season na... and for those who follow the show on studio 23... you're in for big surprises!!!... abangan niyo yung 13th episode ng season 2 which is called "Phase One"... it's the infamous post-Superbowl episode that opened with Jennifer Garner in lingirie... "Phase One" is the most well-written episode of the season... and the addition of Lena Olin as Sydney's mom made the show a whole lot better... if Olin doesn't at least get a nomination at the upcoming Emmy Awards, i'm gonna be really pissed off... Jennifer Garner, on the other hand, should've won the Emmy a year ago... i hope she finally wins it this year... Alias rules.
"Gilmore Girls" is the BEST Comedy series around... sure, "Friends" and "Will & Grace" are super hilarious too (gotta love Karen Walker!)... but Gilmore Girls is perfection... super love ko si Lorelai Gilmore... ang funny rin ni Emily, yung mom niya... the writing is super witty... and naa-amaze ako sa kay Lauren Graham (Lorelai) and Alexis Bledel (Rory) coz ang bilis ng line delivery nila... i heard they practice that all the time... i love this show coz along with the comedy, they give you drama (parang Ally McBeal)... there are touching moments to go with the really laugh-out-loud ones.
memorable moment:
LORELAI: Dad, Rory is going to Harvard.
DAD: that's ridiculous. who's gonna help her get into Harvard???
LORELAI: uh... Reese Witherspoon.
and if you love Gilmore Girls, you'll loooove "Everwood"... it's like Gilmore Girls with testosterone... instead of mother-daughter team, it's father-son-young daughter... and it's more dramatic than comedic but still a good show nonetheless... what makes this show good is the acting... ang galing ng cast... they work so well together... ang ganda rin ng scenery... it's set kasi in the snowy mountains of Colorado so ang ganda tingnan... my favorite character is Edna, the tomboyish nurse... pero the best actor in the cast is Gregory Smith who plays Ephram, the son who loses his mother.
i've only seen one episode of "Boomtown" and already i like it more than CSI... although i love CSI as well, i think it's shallow and "pa-cool" lang siya... CSI always focuses on the crime and how the detectives solve it... as a result, wala nang room for character development... konti na lang... so wala tayo masyadong alam about the characters... on the other hand, "Boomtown" showed the characters' "depth" right from the start... pinakita na yung suicidal wife ni Joel, yung infidelity ni McNorris, yung sad past ni Fearless, etc... tapos together with that, SUPER GALING pa yung editing tsaka yung writing... it's like "Pulp Fiction" and "Go"... yung pabalik-balik siya... so if you liked any of the two movies, you'll like this too.
another amazing but not-so-popular show is "24"... i guess kung maayos yung pag-telecast ng RPN at hindi pa-replay-replay, more people would watched the show... this show is very well written and it has a 2002 Emmy Award for Writing to prove it... galing ng twists... better than CSI... pero despite all the twists that occur, the writing doesn't overshadow the cast... who ever thought that Kiefer Sutherland could still resurrect his career?... already saw season 1 and parts of season 2... hasn't let me down yet.
there are lots of other shows that are so well made pero kulang sa viewers... "Buffy", "Angel", "Malcolm In The Middle", "Everybody Loves Raymond", and many more... i wish these shows would get more viewers and more recognition coz they very well deserve it.
and i hope you guys start watching these shows too... it's worth your time... i promise.
