Congratulations to the Ateneo Blue Booters for winning the first of their many wins this season!!!! Another very promising Men's Football season.
Great cheering by the Ateneo Blue Babble and heckling by the Ateneo 6th Man.

On a side note, atenean_blooded, Legal Eagle, Pepsiblue21 and I weren't able to contribute much to the heckling since the more legendary Ateneans (I am putting it nicely
ha
) were already doing it passionately. Hyukhyukhyukhyukhyukhyuk!!!!

And La Salle won over UST. Score was 2-1.
Our Ateneo Lady Booters lost to the UST Ladies, 1-0. I'm blaming two people for the not so good outcome of the game. The first one exchanged Ateneo for horses, thus he wasn't able to watch.

The second
naman, sleepy
na raw! Hyukhyukhyukhyukhyuk!!!

Seriously.

Ateneo Booters Blank State U, 3-0 by Reuben Ezra Terrado
http://www.ubelt.com/ub/uaap/mfb/story.aspx?id=1032 Ateneo de Manila started its title-retention bid on a winning note with a 3-0 decision over UP 3-0 at the opening game of the UAAP Season 68 football tournament last Sunday (January 15) at the Ateneo Field.
John Paul Merida scored the first goal of the season in the 27th minute to take the early lead, 1-0. A header by Alvin Perez that came from a corner by Emmanuel Gimarino sailed in front of Merida, who nailed a short kick that went passed the goalkeeper.
UP tried to come back but Blue Booter Roger Lastimado got himself free in the open field and pounced a goal at the 83rd minute of the contest for a 2-0 lead. Five minutes later, the Blue Eagles got the insurance goal courtesy of team captain Micky Ingles, 3-0.
Coach Ompong Merida said that even with the win, the Blue Booters could have played better. “Adjustments pa rin kami dahil first game namin,” said Merida, on their game against UP. “We hope to improve in our next game.”
The Loyola-based booters will be vying for its third straight UAAP men’s football tournament crown this season and coach Merida knows the importance of every game to attain that objective.
“The first game is always important in every tournament,” noted Merida. “We will take the usual approach which is taking it one game at a time and then we’ll see what happens.”
In other games, goals from Vaughn Melendrez and Jeremias Jiao gave De La Salle a 2-1 triumph over runners-up of last year, UST.
Melendrez scored on a putback from a miss by Sean Gepaya in the 14th minute while Jiao’s goal just before halftime gave the Green Booters a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers threatened after Jose Louie Brillantes’ penalty kick in the 77th but De La Salle was able to hold on with the victory.
In women’s action, Amalie Martino and Farrabeth Limbo scored a goal each to give UP a 2-1 win over FEU to kick off the women’s tournament.
