WWE is deeply saddened by the news that Eddie Guerrero passed away Sunday morning in Minneapolis (November 14 Manila Time). The Latino Heat would surely be missed. Long live Papi!
cris gee

Speculation was that he was planned to win the World Heavyweight Championship in a triple-threat with Batista and randy Orton to give the Big Dave some time of for his back surgery. I was waiting so badly for his next championship reign.

You will be missed Eddie! You did a great job.

did the statement state the reason behind his untimely death?

They say it was a heart attack. Hotel officials were concerned when he didn't reply/answer to the wake-up call. Eddie was brushing his teeth when he had a heart attack.

wrestlers might be prone to these things. they artificially subject their bodies to hormonal and other drugs to increase performance.

Sayang, Eddie Guerrero is one of my fave wrestlers... sad.gif mejo nagulat nga ako nung nakita ko sa Jack TV ung memorial ad. WWE will never be the same without the TRES AMIGOS, FROG SPLASH from the top rope, the Low Riders he used to bring in his entrances, and the Lying, Cheating and Stealing of the Latino Heat.

RIP Eddie. Great Job.

Besides that, the physical exertions from training, traveling and wrestling also take their toll. Also, Eddie had a drug problem in the past that could have done some lasting damage to his system.

If it's true that Eddie died of a heart attack, then he's the third wrestler I know who was found dead in a hotel room of heart problems. The other two were Brian Pillman and Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig.

Rest in peace, Latino Heat. You will be missed.

AA, thanks for the info. I knew that Davey Boy Smith was dead, but not the cause of death. Parang narinig ko rin na drug-related yung kanya. sad.gif

Anyway, just to steer the discussion on this thread back to Eddie Guerrero, I've just logged on to WWE.com and here's the official word on the cause of his death: http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/causeofdeath

Now, I'd like to pose this question: What was/were your favorite Latino Heat moment/s?

Mine had to be the time he auctioned off Kurt Angle's stuff. Hehehe. It was so much fun to watch Eddie annoy Angle, because Eddie was really good at being annoying. laugh.gif

EDITED TO ADD: The latest episode of Raw was a special tribute show for Eddie (like the one they did for Owen Hart several years ago). I'm going to watch out for that one.

carrot, in that episode, kerwin white will battle as chavo guerrero, he'll be doing soem of papi's signature moves, like the tres amigos.

yeah he is good at annoying people... i also liked the way he plays as a kontrabida... he's so good in convincing the viewers that he is psychologically disturbed as he displayed in his Rey Mysterio rivalry biggrin.gif

I have to admit that I also really enjoyed the "Mamacita" storyline he did with Chyna. She was at her peak, career-wise, during that time, I think, and Eddie was so funny as her adoring swain.

(Now look at what happened to Chyna - eww! ph34r.gif)

I caught a bit of the Raw "tribute" show and most of the Smackdown show over the weekend and the outpouring of emotion from the WWE was wonderful. It was nice to see the superstars lay their personas aside for a while and give the fans a glimpse of how close they are away from the spotlight. It was a nice reminder that these wrestlers are people, too, who love and have problems and get hurt just like everyone else.

Regardless of the real cause of Eddie's death, the fact remains that he was a committed wrestler and performer and a good man, and that his death was a big loss to the WWE, to the industry as a whole, and most especially to the fans.

Vaya con Dios, Eddie!

yeah caught the tribute too... it was fun reliving the eddie moments... i particularly enjoyed the lying, cheating, and stealing moments he had with chavo laugh.gif
