we're planning an EB the night before our first game of the season?

those who've signified their desire to join the funin the recent games/recruiting games threads, please reconfirm here. sonic death monkey will be sending out the invites.

there are plans to hold the affair in ateneo, maybe moro or loyola center (sorry, i ain't calling it blue eagle gym.) if the university disallows it coz of the beer, then we'll probably hold it in the libis or katipunan area.

In the dying seconds of the ball game, the Eagles were lucky since the ref called a blocking foul on Andrew Cruz instead of an offensive foul on Wes.

On the ensuing play, Wes made an inbound pass to Rich at the left corner of the court and he then he drove to the middle and threw a semi-hook which trickled in to tie the ball game at 77 a piece.

The Pioneer Team called a time out. Andrew Cruz then borrowed the white board of the Blue Eagles and drew up a play for Rainier Sison with 3 seconds left on the clock. Andrew threw the ball from the Eagles side of the court and Rain caught it just off the half line. Rain threw a desperation shot that just hit the backboard.

Jamike Jarin was calling the shots for the Eagles. The Hapee boys and Bugia started for our team. Everyone from the team played except for Chris Tiu who was just running around the elevated oval at moro. He is still recovering from an injury according to team officials. (BTW.. I did not see any pedophile lurking or stalking the poor kid.)

Overall, The Blue Eagles played a good game. I expect an 8 to 9 man rotation. The only thing bothering me is I cannot understand why Escueta is not in the team. (He played for Pioneer during the game.) He was busy all game making tear dropshots over Alvarez and Bugia. He also has a decent jump shot.(This is a problem with our other point guard.)

It will be a tough road ahead in UAAP season 66 but I am confident we will reach the finals.

I thought it was a bad game for the eagles last night. They were not pressured to win the game. The killer instinct was not there. Everybody was complacent and smiling as if it was just another regular scrimmage with their ex-teammates. Should have brought in another team from the PBA instead.

Yuri played a hell of a game for the PBL team!

hello all. the venue will be decided in the next few days. invitations will be sent via PM as usual, for internet security reasons (lotsa pedophiles out there!). there have been two gatherings before july 12 and the original members are already somewhat familiar with each other. if you're a first-timer you're advised to look for the table with noisy people conspiring to do nasty things to franz pumaren. ha ha, joke. i think.

I finally biked in the Fort Last Sunday. I won the bente-bente race! It was my first bike race. I wasn't really planning to join, but my cousin signed me up. Those man holes were scary! So many people crashed that day. I don't think I'll ever bike there again........ The win earned me a P170. HAHAHAHA It's not worth the risk!

looks like we've got a bigger and more diverse crowd this time around.

it'll be great to see the original 14BP people again, and to meet some new faces as well.

i don't know about chief, haven't talked to him in a while. but i'll text him and tell him to check the thread.

No invitations have been sent out yet. We've only pinned down one thing and it's the date - the eve of the UE game. That would make it Saturday, July 12. Right? Ateneo is one of the choices of venue but only if we can smuggle drinks in, and things are beginning to look negative on that score. So stand by while we look for a restaurant that doesn't mind lots of loud, opinionated people who might be violently settling scores from old arguments on the thread, ha ha. :-)

P.S. Does anybody want to continue with name tags for the benefit of the newcomers?

Hey, let's not scare the newbies. We did the name tag thing at the previous gatherings, and the fact that we will have a whole load of new, apparently nervous people makes the name tags more important.

Out_of_the_Blue, relax. Just make sure you're free on the night of the 12th. SDM is an old hand at this and will let you know when and where with enough time for you to arrange a ride or whatever.

Anyone going to the UE game? Am debating on whether to risk motion sickness to take the bus to Araneta and get a nosebleed ticket.

the venue has been decided on. we are just waiting for a final confirmation on our reservation. the agenda is also being determined. otherwise we're ready to go. expect PMs wednesday night at the latest.

Thanks. You know, this venue will be perfect for all of us to at least help each other in assuring ticket availability for the Ateneo games. There are a lot of hoarders out there who would want to earn big bucks by being scalpers. By using this "organization" we can actually use our political, legal, and extra-legal connections to ensure that we will all be able to watch the games and demolish this illegal business of scalping.

Incidentally, does anyone know if the tickets for the game against UE are already available?

Tickets were available since last Monday. The Loyola Gym has a booth - they sell two tickets per person (Upper A) and you have to show a valid Ateneo ID to get them. Last I checked, the Upper A's were sold out. Upper B yata has no limit per person.

Araneta also sells but it's also two per person. But when I got my tickets yesterday, I think they still had Patrons available.

Watch out for the PMs from Sonic Death Monkey. We've got a reservation already for Saturday. In case you're wondering where, all i can say is that it's nowhere near the riles.
