Had a blast last night. Glad to have finally met all of you.
I sent the email containing both the link to the pictures and our directory.
If you don't get the email, it probably means I scr*wed up reading your handwriting and got the information wrong.
If so, my apologies. Please PM me the correct information and I will forward same to you.
Until our next gathering . . .
Cheers!

Yup, it was great to meet you all

Upper Box, thanks for the CD, I'm listening to it right now.
Some highlights of the evening:
1. Maverick's account of the death of **** Gordon's eagle
2. The pics of the Blue Eagles on Edu Manzano's show
3. The Raffle!
4. All the stories and jokes (including, dare I say, the tripod joke! Hehehe

)
Feel free to add your own

Thanks for posting the pics, Pizza Guy. Regards to Pizza Gurl

To protect the credibility of ... certain people ... we swear never to say who the tripod jokes came from. ok? :-)
Great seeing all you guys. Hope to make it a regular pre and postseason thing. (Offseason excuses to convene the group for a beer, I'm still coming up with). It goes without saying that if any of you are in my part of the world, please look me up, or else I'll be terribly offended. We can sample the wonderful beers of greater China and beyond, and talk about all things blue and white.
Am taking suggestions for the next thread essay here. Or if you have anything earthshaking to discuss that can't wait for a consensus, start a thread and we'll help you get the ball rolling.
To everyone who got a CD from me -- enjoy. Hope it fills an enjoyable hour in your lives at least. miss d, I know you're a Norah Jones fan but a litle old-timer music in small doses never hurt anyone.
BTW, allblue couldn't make it because of a death in the family. Sayang, allblue, and condolences. Catch you next time.

Just got back from last night's little shindig Homeys! Dumerecho kami sa ibang gimik ni Janescoundrel. Hope we do get together again and hopefully with an even bigger participation from all of the other Blue Hoops Junkies. Upper Box, I might be in your town sometime first 15 days of December, but nothing's definite yet, depends on my boss's schedule. BK and Ghostrider, hope I can catch some of the ABL games, maybe you guys can gimme the skeds when they come out.

Dear All,
Thanks for honoring the invitation to the 14 Beers Project. It was a truly enjoyable evening. I hope to do it again soon. It was very good to finally put faces to the nicknames of some of the most intelligent and thought-provoking post-ers on this forum.
Special thanks to Ghostrider and OrigFemaleBabble for putting it all together, miss d and chief atenista for the raffle items, and UpperBox for coming up with the original threads.
It was a most enjoyable and memorable evening. For 5 hours on a Saturday night, I actually felt young again. Thanks for the ride!
I never told the whole story on the dead bird until last night. Hope it goes a long way in exorcising some ghosts in the long buried past.
And now, for a few messages:
1) PizzaGuy/PizzaGurl - Thanks for the vcd's. Haven't seen those games in years. Again, I felt transported to another era just by seeing those images. The only dark spot in seeing those games is hearing the commentary of Freddie Abando and Sal Marte again. Thank god Philippine sports commentary has actually progressed since those days.
And, no, PizzaGurl, you may not show the picture referred to. Have a heart!
2) allblue - Condolences on your loss. I regret to hear the news. Hope to see you in happier times.
To all, have a great week ahead! Ingat.

Know what? I just realized something -- we actually forgot to do the toast to the Eagles during the 14 year drought!
I think this omission calls for another gathering.

Ei guyz,
If ever you'd be dropping by the link of our 14 BP pics, try clicking the "all galleries" link. There are some pics there that you may find kinda interesting, and even very funny...
Cheers.

Adding my thanks to everyone who showed up :)and condolences to allblue

I was very glad to socialize with real people. I don't get to talk to people face-to-face that much anymore! (And it was great to see Pizza Gurl again. I wouldn't be surprised if she was actually in the caf with me on the day Miko de Villa tried out for the BBB.)
Re: pics of the Sockless One - LOL! Priceless! He is going to get it from me the next time I see him: the mullet, the lack of socks, and the fact that everyone on TV saw him in an Ateneo t-shirt

Re: the tripod joke - people, it just goes to show how intelligent Ateneans are. Someone was obviously paying attention during Chemistry lab
Should have joined you guys in Country Waffles -- I blew out my right front tire on my way home

if I'd gone through Ortigas (assuming I was coming from Libis) I would not have had to contend with indefinite highway-sidewalk boundaries
This definitely merits a repeat!
EDITED to add: Also confirming receipt of the e-mail and PM containing the link. Thanks, Pizza Guy!

Will view the pics on a better-resolution PC.
EDITED again to put in a space between "Pizza" and "Gurl"

CHEMISTRY Lab? Did I miss anything? I'm calling an emergency conference RIGHT NOW on just exactly how people understood the tripod joke. Because it boggles my mind that there may be alternative meanings to the one I imagined! :-)

I understood the tripod joke  It just amazes me how someone would think of a piece of lab equipment to make such a comparison

hence the Chem lab comment.
Does that clear things up for you? *blinks hopefully*

I didn't know they used tripods in chem lab. I was thinking more along photography lines :-)
Hope the tire-changing wasn't too much of a hassle.

Hee, maybe not in a proper chem lab, but we used them all the time in high school when all we had were alcohol burners. (Sometimes they had four legs...go figure.) But yeah, the photography analogy works too
Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever used a Bunsen burner.

Just dropped my roll of film with the photo shop next door. Planning to post the results on my Yahoo photo page by end of the day. Will try to mail out the links this evening. My only regret is that I failed to take a photo of a little noticed but highly spectacular action sequence involving ... a certain person ... accidentally spewing out a small bit of food while laughing ... onto the head of another certain person. Mwahahahaha. Hope you all shampooed when you got home!

Ah, how beautiful! Democracy at work -- against me!

Are you guys sure you want to see THAT photo. It's the stuff of nightmares, believe me.
Tell you what, we can view it at the next 14 Beers. I think we need to have one if only to explain the tripod joke to Carrot.
Carrot, we were right in front of you when we said the whole joke about the tripod. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that we can readily convince the joke teller to repeat the tale. We also regret hearing about your little incident after the 14 Beers. Hope that didn't get you into trouble with your folks. Bring the Sockless One along next time. The photos we brought along were printed in the Aegis 90. We'll see if we can bring along a copy next time.

I'm pretty sure I got the tripod joke. I was merely commenting on the brain capacity it took for the person who first used "tripod" to apply the image of lab/photo equipment to the particular condition under discussion.
Sorry, but it is very hard to express myself properly without incriminating anyone

It panicked my mom, but she hasn't come back from Baguio to yell at me yet

and my dad called the next evening to find out how I got home. Buti he didn't call while I drove my sister to watch the Harry Potter movie for the second time.

Just dropping by to say hi to everybody. It was such a pleasure getting to know all of you. It just shows no matter from what decade you're from (sorry to those who were still able to remember the NCAA days vividly), we can all have a great time together. Thanks to the two gentlemen who picked up the tab. Next time ulit... :)First round is on me this time.
