AdMU-DLSU game a few years later, Kish Co subs into the game:
"Gooo Kiiish!" (Just like how a parent would cheer for a 5-year old child but done very tauntingly.)

i also recall just now: after hans thiele's shoving of eric salamat in the 3rd i think it was, and everyone on the blue side started showering the UE bench with invectives, i shouted one of my own: "thiele, nazi!" which was in reference to his teutonic-sounding name (my apologies to any germans reading this forum). i guess no one realized the irony of it all.

According to TJ Manotoc when he covered the very first game of Season 69 in Studio 23, UE vs. Adamson, he inquired from Thiele himself the proper pronounciation of his family name. The latter responded, "TA-I-LI"

seated on the lowermost row of upper B, directly below the BBB during the 1st finals game (season 69, vs. UST, with macky and doug's hail Mary play not in anyone's minds yet), many of us heard someone to my left, along the same row, make the following very hilarious remarks:

1. during the ladies finals (between UST and FEU), middle of the 4th: "hoy! tama na! tapusin niyo na yan!"

2. during halftime of the juniors game, when FEU junior cheerdancers were on the floor:

- "eto na ang mga taga-eat bulaga!"

- "hoy! bumalik na ang wowowee!"

This is David Nye--the real David Nye. I've been out of the country for awhile, as a successful TV news anchor on an international station. I do not deny my passion for the Ateneo, and feel no remorse letting my passion loose! Frankly, excess passion is much better than a lack of it. And in the many years I've been involved in Ateneo basketball as a former cheerleader and alumni supporter, the younger generation of "Ateneans" are more interested in turning the UAAP into a "sosyal" event rather than what it was meant to be -- a partisan event. Yes, I admit I may have crossed the line in some instances; nevertheless, at least I don't go around hanging my dirty linen in public (i.e. bashing a fellow Atenean in a public forum instead of trying to reflect on the reasons for such displays of emotion and passion). I admit my shortcomings; but you, sirs, act holier than Thou!

In the end, despite it all, I'm not ashamed of my passion for my school and my team. But you should be ashamed for character assassination and libelous statements, some of which are based on hearsay and rumours.

If you are truly men and not mice, not the cowards that I know you are--then you will identify yourselves and be brave enough to face the music, whatever that may be.

I will always defend a fellow Atenean come hell and high water, and show compassion as well. The likes of you are truly devoid of these, and are not true Ateneans!

David, there's a huge difference between a "Die-Hard supporter" and a VIOLENT FANATIC. You have to draw the line my friend. Whenever we lose to La Salle, we stand up and congratulate them by applauding their effort while they're singing their alma matter. The La Sallites do the same when they lose to us. That's what you call sportsmanship. Yelling "P_ _ ina mo" behind the bench of an opposing team is RIDICULOUS. You call that "letting your passion loose"? Come on! I call that plain and simple stupidity! FANATICISM!



Well, if you are not ashamed of what you did, then you haven't changed. The young Atenean shouldn't emulate you. You are a disgrace to our community. The best thing for you to do is be sorry for what you did in the past and tell the young people not to follow in your footsteps as far as your fanaticism is concerned
