Hello there Ateneo Faithfuls. Our favorite radio show, Halikinu Radio is back. The time slot is still 9:00 PM at NU 107. Unfortunately, instead of having it on a monday it is now on a FRIDAY. This friday is already episode three of the radio show.
So tune in to Halikinu Radio every Fridays at 9:00 pm.

Mr. Mhel,
I hope you don't mind, but I am going to move this thread to The Locker Room forum. That is the space for fan discussions, including those about Halikinu Radio, which I trust that - just like last year - will shine the spotlight on our other UAAP teams and Ateneo orgs.
Thanks so much for starting this thread. I hope you'll continue to promote the show here because quite a few of us have already tuned in to the past couple of episodes this season and are looking forward to finding out what's in store for the coming weeks.
Speaking of which, who will be guesting tomorrow?

Sorry about the late reaction; I was so caught up in looking forward to the game yesterday that I forgot to commend Halikinu Radio for a great episode last Friday.
It was great to hear from Coach Norman about how the boys are doing (and to be reminded about how Franz Pumaren has never coached in the pros before, harharhar).
And thanks to Mr. Mhel Garrido for plugging atenista.net

According to the bulletin from Ateneo, next week's guests will include Macky and Doug.

Its great to see that this thread has started going and the ateneo die hards are posting about the show. Sadly it took me one month to open the website. Hehe MEdyo hectic lang po ang sked.
Well thanks also Ms. Carrot for posting great reviews on the show. Siguro one time ipakilala kita kay Chiquito.
About the last episode, grabe ang tingin ni Coach Norman sa akiin, parang iniisip who is blacker! Buti naman at medyo brownman revival ang dating ko sa kulay.
Funny thing though, i forgot to ask his relationship with Chris Tan. SIyempre stepson nia pero related parin siya kasi sa surname palang, Black and Tan -related di ba.

In one of the Halikinu sessions, Miko, when asked how his relationship is with the Green Archers especially when he interviews them, said he gets along with many of them well, considering he gave most of them their current monickers. Oo nga ano. Come to think of it, "Cool Cat", "Capt. Hook" and "Ninja" all came out during Miko's turn at sportscasting the UAAP.
On the Ateneo side, did he coin "Baby Rocket" and why "Baby"? I don't get it up to now. What about the "Silent Assassin", did that come from him too? Were there any monickers for for Rico or Rich?

great show last night with macky and doug as guests and d-cay as co-host. the two were sincere, generous and thoughtful with their responses especially to questions regarding their quality of play as individuals and as a collective unit. it's been noted by a number of listeners that those who were featured in halikinu on the eve of a game step up and figure heavily in the final outcome, so i hope tuloy-tuloy ang swerte ng mga iniinterbyu nina mico at ng mga co-hosts. mhel "boy pogi" garrido was sorely missed in the booth.
forgot the name of the musical guest, but they play tight grooves reminiscent of karl roy's old band P.O.T. they killed it, hanep.

The high point of last night was when I heard 311's new single on the radio before the Halikinu Radio broadcast

No, seriously, I also thought last night's broadcast was great. It was a smart move to have DCay co-host. Not only is she well-spoken - siyempre, Scholastican-Atenean yan!

- but as a basketball player herself, she was also able to validate Macky and Doug's responses and to ask some interesting questions.

Dapat manood din siya ng FMC2 - there is a whole slew of players out there without cool nicknames! Problema lang nga is that most of the time, these players don't have their names on their jerseys, so the nicknames will have to be based on appearances. (Like "Dorothy" of Metro Manila Colleges, who got his name because of his red shoes.)

Apologies in advance to Mr. Mhel and fans of/people involved in the show, but this week's review isn't going to be very positive.
Last night's show wasn't so bad. I'm glad that Emman and Jai guested again, but didn't really enjoy how everyone kept harping on Emman tripping outside the studio or whatever.
I know that it was a funny occurrence and the atmosphere of the show is really informal, but 1) it stopped being funny after the first couple of times it was mentioned; and 2) it wasn't treating a guest of the show very well. Fortunately for everyone, Emman just went with the flow of the discussion, even if it did focus on him quite a bit.
Please don't think that I'm saying this just because it was Emman who was the butt of the jokes. It could have been anyone else, and I still would have been annoyed.
For what it's worth, I'll still be listening next week, but I hope that kind of thing won't happen again.

Hello people
From what i gathered i was told that the Lady Eagles will be the guests for
this friday. At the same time they have requested a band to guest.
I think the show will still extend up to October. If we follow last year's Halikinu
season, it even lasted till november. Again basketball is not the only sport
in the UAAP calendar and there are lots of ateneans na okay naman pag usapan.
But then again mas marami nakikinig kung if it is about the Blue Eagles
and the Men's Basketball team.
Do tune in. I might be on board on friday. Hehehehe Sino gusto nio asarin natin!

can't help but snicker when they played parokya's "mr. suave" over at halikiNU last night.
anyway, you have to admire mark molina's candid admission that an FEU loss over ateneo is the most bearable loss because, who knows, anton montinola feels the same way too hehehe!
note to mr chiqui paterno: talaga bang di na pwede yung mga old ABL uniforms next season? ibig sabihin nito mag-o-order na naman ako ng panibagong taas-baba? oh well, gutay-gutay na rin kasi yung mga uniporme ng iba
