Recently, GMA announced her intent to intensify the war against illegal drugs. She urged barangay leaders and the youth to be more vigilant in fighting the spread of illegal drugs.
It is then timely to ask: what do you think can we do to solve the problem of illegal drugs?

With an estimated number of drug users ranging from 3.5M to 5M and impinging on peace and order situation , it necessitates the urgent call to action.
It is also essential in achieving the reform agenda of Pres GMA to ensure clean and honest elections. Drug trafficking is reportedly the source of election funds for candidates.

don't be afraid to submit to the random drug tests, and cooperate fully with all levels of procedure, whether you're found positive or not. the law makes specific provisions for rehab and exemption from prosecution should one voluntarily submit to a rehabilitation program, and the costs will be partly subsidized. it's a win-win situation.

For reference, the special laws based on foregoing are Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Local Government Code, where applicable.

that's right.

hehe, i got a bit praning after attending the consultation workshop for the sectoral guidelines in implementing the law, so i went through my stock of painkillers at home to make sure they were legal. bought it kasi in the US, never bothered to check if they're legal here. buti na lang pasado.

I think the government is doing a good job in catching crooks who engage in the proliferation of drugs. In a span of less than a month since the launching of the campaign, the government has caught a lot of perpetrators.

News as of this writing has Pres GMA lauding the latest efforts led by PDEA the raiding of a drug laboratory in Silang,Cavite.
The President reiterated that an intensified campaign against illegal drugs must not end with raids; the cases against the suspects would not be bungled.
