What made you decide to come back?

I'll come back for good sa 'pinas if I have enough to live off from my retirement benefits. wala lang. para sa akin masaya pa rin sa atin kahit sobra ang pollution, corruption, hot and humid climate, etc. aba, mas maganda ang mga mall at sinehan natin kompara sa mga malls at movie houses dito sa abroad.

Have you been to the underground mall in Montreal? Its features are similar to an upscale Philippine mall, but this one is bigger.

^^

Nope, but I hope to see it someday. Haven't been around much in North America. hope i can go to the east and visit family and friends in Toronto, Montreal, NY and a good place in Miami.

kung saan aabot ang public transpo dito sa BC, I think Metropolis in Metrotown is the biggest mall I've seen so far in Vancouver. there are lots of other interesting sites here, but they are scattered all across the west side of greater Vancouver.

Back to topic, one reason why i want to come back sa 'pinas ay ang freaking cold climate dito. kaya ko naman, pero sobrang hassle in many ways pag winter na dito.

Hope you get to check it out someday. I've been to a number of malls across North America, including better-known ones like South Coast Plaza in SoCal and Mall of America in MN. But Montreal's underground mall tops my list in terms of what I would like to visit on a regular-day basis. Though it is big and well-kept, it is not as expansive or new as the others, nor does it have all the Americana bells and whistles like indoor amusement parks and concert halls. But the interior has a lifestyle feel characterized by an abundance of cafes, diverse food court choices, cinemas and a large bookstore. Right along two subway stops. Parang Rockwell Powerplant, but much bigger.

You should try visiting Canada's East one long weekend. When you get to places like Quebec and Nova Scotia, it's as if you've entered a different country.

yun nga eh. I know it's out there. maybe in due time. bago pa lang ako sa work ko. after a year when I am eligible for vacation benefits in 2007, I plan to go back to Manila on the occasion of my father's 70th bday. perhaps the earliest time to see these places you mentioned is the summer of 2008. really looking forward to it.

BTW, the AAA of BC is growing in terms of membership. aba, marami na yata ang mga immigranteng atenista dito. almost every week I see posts from the alum e-group about newcomer ateneans. the alums are planning the yearly summer picnic this coming July. sana maka-attend kami ng anak ko if schedule permits. I am sure it will be bigger than last year's picnic in terms of those who can attend.

back to the topic, another reason why i wish to come back is to hopefully establish some business in Manila or find some business to bring to Canada from Manila. I do not know what kind, but I wish I can find one soon.
