Haha. Yeah I forgot. Although Aleta is still in the line-up. Dami natin! Haha.
Aleta will be playing na daw on Monday. This girl daw is better than Michelle Carolino and Roxanne Pimentel. And, just a thought, i heard from UST people that Mayette Carolino wants to join the team even though it's late. Dunno about this.
Haha. I was seated near the bench where Ateneo played their 1st set. Where are you? Haha. I will watch the game on Monday. Haha. Will You? I was wearing a white shirt with blue sleeveless and the ateneo on the front.
Bilib ako sa Ateneo. Even though we were down by like 5 points, the Ateneo crowd joined by UST fans cheered for Ateneo for every point. Charlie Tan, our Libero, has many fans from UST and La Salle. Haha.

SVL: Eagles Escape Pirates, Tams Lose
By Jan Carlo
Next Games:
May 19, 2005 – Lyceum Gym
3 PM – UST vs. Lyceum
5 PM – La Salle vs. FEU
The San Sebastian Lady Stags once again pulled another victory with their fellow last-placed team last conference, the FEU Lady Tamaraws. SSC once again relied on the services of Cherry Rose Macatangay who scored 27 points all in all. Rovira, FEU’s topscorer, showed an extravagant performance with 22 points, but did not prevail in the end. SSC’s playmakers are Bohawe and Latigay, who also topscored in their last match against UST. FEU, who lost the services of Ege got weaker this conference for they only have Rovira as their backup. SSC’s performance should level up as they face stronger teams such as the La Salle Lady Archers and the Ateneo Lady Eagles in their next games.
Ateneo survived a 5-setter game against the home team, the Lyceum Lady Pirates. The Eagles missed the services of Tabuena and Laborte in the 1st and 2nd set, but the UAAP Ateneo squad, along with alumna Guangco and reinforced by Iratay, made their way as they won the 1st. and 2nd. set bigtime. When the 3rd. set came, Coach Lou put on the reinforcements and still the main problem really was the communication among the RP Team players, the alumnae, and the current UAAP players. 4th set came with the original UAAP Ateneo team and, without their reinforcements and guest players, the Eagles still managed to give Lyceum a good fight as the Pirates only led by as much as 3. Taganas, who was always the playmaker for the UAAP Ateneo volleybelles made 14 points in the 4th set. Tabuena, along with Laborte, made the amazing kills as the team was down by 7-11 and suddenly catched up to 15-12. The team’s chemistry still needs to build up among the RP Team players, the alumnae, and the students, but kudos for a great and exciting game.
The scores:
SSC def. FEU: 25-18, 25-16, 22-25, 25-18
Ateneo def. Lyceum: 25-21, 29-27, 19-25, 22-25, 15-12
Players of the Game:
1st Game: Cherry Rose Macatangay and Jennifer Bohawe
2nd Game: Cecille Tabuena and Patti Taganas

during their first game i noticed --- just a "small" concern - observed that it was our players themselves (the lady spikers) who carried the big coleman (presumably with lots of ice & their gatorade) to their bench. 2 lady spikers took turn in carrying the heavy thing. kawawa naman sila ... are there no "hired" help to do this for our players (especially for the ladies)? how come this is not the case for our cagers. i mean dapat pantay diba? if there are not enough budget, who among the alumni kaya can spare "their extra" (if there are) helps to do this???

SVL: Archers Win Anew as Eagles Shock Tigers
By jancarlo
Next Games:
May 26 – Rizal Memorial Coliseum
3 PM – ADMU vs. SSC
5 PM – LOP vs. FEU
Once again, Second conference champion La Salle Lady Archers pulled off another victory over the Lyceum Lady Pirates at the resumption of the Shakey’s V-League Third Conference. Carolino, the best player of the game, showed that she can again be the MVP for the league. Lyceum, however, didn’t give up in the last set as they managed to lead the Archers, but sadly, in the 23-23 tie up, La Salle prevailed in the last two points.
The Ateneo Lady Eagles upset and surprised First Conference titlist UST Tigresses with a 5-setter win. UST relied on Pimentel and Balse, who sadly are having an off-game as they were blocked by the Ateneo players, 13 times both by the efforts of Soriano and Laborte. Tabuena and Taganas had a good time communicating on who will spike as they alternately do the attacks. Iratay and Bello showed that they deserved to be Ateneo’s setter as they set the players into 18 and 15 sets. This game was an experimental game due to the fact that they tried a new strategy in quick-setting between Iratay and Soriano, which we all know is UST’s waterloo. Teamwork was the one that made the Ateneo team prevailed as UST relied on the star players Pimentel and Balse. Co Yu Kang’s attacks didn’t quite work as Taganas and Tan, who were power receivers, managed to get all. Even the running spikes of Pimentel didn’t work with Tan’s digs and receives. Pano, however, missed the game due to the death of her dad in Iloilo. Condolences for Pano. The game was really emotional as the Alumni of UST were already insulting Coach August due to a 1-2 card who lost their games to SSC and newcomer Ateneo. The game was also a great victory especially for Guangco as the Eagles experienced a 14-year drought to UST in the UAAP.
The audience was filled with UST, La Salle and Ateneo fans. In the Ateneo vs. UST, La Salle teamed up in cheering for Ateneo and forgot their rivalry with them. This is a sign that the Eagles “JELLED” up with one another and the team has a bright future in the finals.
The Scores:
DLSU def. Lyceum – 25-16, 25-20, 25-23
ADMU def. UST – 21-25, 25-22, 25-17, 18-25, 15-11
