Our Michelle Laborte-Cecille Tabuena tandem worked against opponents, Sheryl Laborte-Rolyn Marquisas to score 21-16.
Nice work girls! Champions!
P.S. One time, I saw Laborte and Tabuena practice with the Team A and B of our Women's Volleyball.

Shakey's V-League 4th Conference will start on January 27, 2005 in our Blue Eagle Gym. I heard though that Mr. Ricky Palou will be the Commissioner again.

JanCarlo, maybe you can ask around if the team wants to recruit Angela Descalsota. I've spoken with her already, she's OK with the idea. Kaya lang injured siya ngayon, mga December pa siya maghi-heal properly.

^Just in time for Shakey's V-League. Hehe. January pa naman so pwede pa yun. That's a nice addition in our line-up along with Micmic Laborte and Cecille Tabuena.
Still not sure are Monica Aleta, Rubie de Leon and Iris Ortega. Monica Aleta isn't sure pa, pero if she is available daw, she wants to play for Ateneo. Rubie de Leon however is not yet sure coz she might play for UST, but the coach of UST wants Joan Carpio as their setter, so baka Rubie de Leon might play for us. Rubie de Leon's the RP Team's First Setter so bigatin itong girl na ito. Iris Ortega works in a company, so medyo hindi siya nakakaatend ng games lalo na pag Monday and Thursday, not to mention that his boss is a Lasallian, kaya hindi siya pinapayagan maglaro. Hehe. I do hope she plays again for Ateneo and sana yung touch niya when she was still in UAAP playing for us, nandun pa rin.

I hope Coach Lou Gepuele maintains his rotation in the Shakey's V-League. I like his rotation na he will put UAAP players with RP Team players para masanay. Then sometimes he puts UAAP players against La Salle's or UST's all RP Team players.

"The Shakey's V-League will start on January 7, 2006. Playdays will still be Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Venues of the League will be Philsports Arena, Blue Eagle Gym and Rizal Coliseum. Philsports Arena will only be used in the Opening, Playoffs, Semi-Finals and Finals because of strong crowd presence. Blue Eagle Gym will serve as the semi-permanent venue. However, Shakey's V-League will start to go to universities for some games. It is also like a home and away league format since some games will be in the gyms of UST, Lyceum, Letran, La Salle, FEU, San Sebastian and Adamson. However games like Ateneo-La Salle, UST-Ateneo and La Salle-UST might be in Blue Eagle Gym or Rizal Coliseum as it draws a big crowd always.
UAAP runner-up Adamson University is our new team for this season as it might add competence for the league. Coming back is the Intramuros-based Colegio San Juan de Letran for they have proven to be a contender in the NCAA Women's Volleyball. Still in the league are Lyceum of the Philippines, Far Eastern University and San Sebastian College-Recoletos. Semi-finalists Ateneo de Manila University and University of Santo Tomas will still be there to show their dominance in the league. Defending Champions De La Salle University will still be there to defend their back-to-back crown.
Cherry Rose Macatangay will finally play for her former school and don the Adamson jersey. Together with her are former Far Eastern players Christina Salak, Lali Penaflorida, UE's Suzaine Roces and UST former player Karen Co Yu Kang, the sister of Kate Co Yu Kang. They finished as runner-up against De La Salle in the UAAP Finals and still has a strong line-up.
Letran Lady Knights and Philippine Sports Commission Lady Legends have decided to merge to form one team. Ateneo de Manila's Amelia Guangco, who played last conference for her former school, will be playing with Ateneo de Davao's Rosemarie Prochina and Ida Chavez, UP's Leonor Escollante and Thelma Barrino-Rojas. Rumors in the message boards says that Coach Nestor Pamiliar have asked their alumnae sisters Mayette and Michelle Carolino to play for their team as a sign of respect for their alma mater.
Lyceum will have Angel Bigkas back as she suffered injury last conference and failed to make Lyceum a contender in the Semi-Finals. Along with her are Petron Beach Volleyball 3rd Leg Champions Rolyn Marquisas from University of Saint La Salle and Sheryl Laborte, sister of Ateneo de Manila's Michelle Laborte, who also plays for University of Saint La Salle in Bacolod. Back are UST's Lourdes Palomo who will play as setter and Far Eastern's hitter Liza Fernando to call the shots for the Muralla-based squad.
Far Eastern's players are all alumnae of their school. People won't be surprised since most of their former players will play in different teams as well since if they will be put together in one team, it will be overpopulated since over and over since 1991 till 2003 they are in the Finals always. Mind you that 9 of those are against UST. Anyways, back in their team are RP Team Player Ruby Mhay Rovira, former Ateneo de Manila player Ers Iratay. New in the team is 3-Time UAAP MVP Cecille Bunag and 2-Time UAAP Best Setter Trina Martinez. Genelyn Alemania, the Best Libero in the Shakey's V-League, will still be there to replace her sister who is the Libero in the UAAP.
For the 4th Time, Jennifer Bohawe will play for her alma mater together with her former teammates Patricia Siatan. Angel Descalsota, also a San Sebastian alumna, is not yet sure since she has been invited to play for the Ateneo de Manila team. Reinforcements for their team are Far Eastern and at the same time RP Team players Cecille Chavas and Theresa de la Rosa.
Ateneo de Manila's line-up will still be the same in a way but will be replacing Amelia Guangco and Ers Iratay since they will be playing for Letran and San Sebastian. The Petron Beach Volleyball Champions Michelle Laborte and Cecille Tabuena have decided to be loyal and will play for the Katipunan-based Squad. As said earlier, Angel Descalsota will still decide whether to play in this team or in San Sebastian Team. New players for their team are RP Team players Rubi de Leon, who is a former player of UST and 2-Time UAAP Best Attacker Monica Aleta, who formerly plays for Far Eastern squad. Iris Ortega and Charlie Tan, who are alumnae of this Blue and White squad are not yet sure due to some reasons. Charlie Tan is said to play for UST since Coach Lou Gepuela wants to train his new Libero Steph Gabriel.
UST's line-up will be more energized this conference. They still have RP Team Quicker Players Roxanne Pimentel, Receiver Mary Jean Balse, Hitter Kate Co Yu Kang and Setter Joan Botor-Carpio. Back are Joyce Pano who made an impact in the 1st and 3rd Conference. Anna Fulo, who was absent in the 2nd and 3rd conference, finally found time to play for her former team. They still have Venus Bernal to play for their team and to lead the Espana-based squad again into the finals. Every year, it's traditional that UST replaces their Libero. This year, they got a top libero in the league who formerly plays for the Ateneo de Manila Squad who is Charlie Tan. Not to mention that Charlie Tan averages 20 digs per game in the last 2nd and 3rd Conference. So indeed they got a service of a good player here.
La Salle isn't sure of getting Letran's Mayette and Michelle Carolino but if they don't they will have an all-La Salle squad. The Taft-based squad will have RP Team players Maureen Penetrante and Desiree Hernandez. Back for the team is La Salle-Dasmarinas' Concecpcion Legaspi and Carissa Gotis, who didn't play last conference due to a serious injury. Still there are 2005 UAAP Best Attacker Manilla Santos and multi-titled UAAP and Shakey's V-League Best Setter Relea Ferina Saet. Shakey's V-League's Best Receiver Sharmaine Penano will still be there to be the Libero of the team making them the most defensive team again. Michelle Datuin, another tall player will help Hernandez and Penetrante to call the shots for De La Salle. They will be the youngest team come 4th Conference.
The Shakey's V-League will now charge an entrance fee costing P150 for the Lower Box, P100 for the Upper Box. There will be no entrance fee in the General Admission."
