Did you miss capoira at the ACP these past two years?

Classes are being offered in Makati and Quezon City by Escola Brasileira de Capoeira Philippines (The Brazilian School of Capoeira Philippines).

What's it all about? Click on this link to our website: Escola Brasileira de Capoeira Philippines

Hey, cooklet! I've been wanting to try capoeira for a while now! I checked out the website and it's really cool. Can you tell me more about it? How are the people? I feel kinda shy to go alone so I'm waiting for my friends to get around to liking it. hehe! Is it hard? How many times a week are you expected to train? Any information you can give me is much appreciated! smile.gif

Marley, you can go to any of the venues to observe. Better yet, join at once! Everyone from the teacher to the existing students will accommodate you. Don't be shy to come alone. We're all friendly and eager to help a newbie.

Once you decide to join, you train as often as you can. Most people end up taking it seriously and train everyday or at least four times a week. That's because there's so much to learn. Class is typically filled with movements we need to learn: basic kicks and evasions plus a few acrobatic movements we all attempt to perfect. Don't let that scare you. We all fall flat on our backs the first few tries, laugh it off, and try again. Once in a while, instruments, capoeira songs in Portuguese, and other Brazilian dances (maculele and samba) are taught. A few of us even went as far as to take Portuguese lessons.

Capoeira is challenging, but in a fun and friendly environment. I can't possible explain everything here, so come drop by one of our sessions and see it for yourself. (The Friday classes are usually the most fun to watch)
