books, movies, songs.. sometimes have characters / people who are unforgettable. they just stick.
are there characters you love or you admire? has there been a story you did not want to end because of a character you wanted to follow (throughout his life maybe)? has there been a story where the author killed a character but you so wished he did not kill that character?

for me it would have to be alyosha from dostoevsky's brothers karamazov and holden from catcher in the rye.
i imagine both to be beautiful boys. but more than that i think alyosha really is a saint. it would be fun to be in the presence of that guy. and the effect he had on people. wow. back in high school when i read catcher i wanted to follow holden around the streets of new york. i wanted to walk beside him. i wanted to you know, just go, just be.
Rolll out the victory!!!

In my adult life, mine's gotta be Howard Roark and John Galt, from Ayn Rand's Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, respectively. Talk about the uber alpha male! Both men are strong, sensitive and intelligent, not to mention sarcastic... *sigh* Rand captured what a perfect guy should be... But these descriptions are just the tip of the iceberg. What you would love about these guys are their story and how they responded to the circumstances around them.

In my angry-young-woman stage (high school - early part of college) I was the ultimate rebel queen. I was totally in love with... yes, Holden Caulfield.

Movie character:
INDIANA JONES!

Gotta love Robert Langdon in Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" book, too. His character in "The Da Vinci Code" is an extension, but he seems more believable in the first book.

The Batman.

Batman would top Ayn Rand's laundry list of what makes an ideal person.

Andrea Marr's character from the book Girl by Blake Nelson. Spoiled, angst-ridden, A-student who suddenly falls for a troubled musician.

The movie is good also. Starring Dominique Swain as Andrea and Sean Patrick Flanery as Todd Sparrow (the musician).

Pwedeng cartoon? I am also enamored with Helga Pataki from Hey, Arnold. Drama queen at nine, and applies cariņo brutal towards Arnold. biggrin.gif

Holden Caulfield -The Catcher in the Rye (Typical High School literature)

Stanley Kowalski - A Streetcar Named Desire (Our Literature class also watch the movie. The girls loved Marlon Brando (RIP), fast forward to the present na turn off sila.) laugh.gif

Raskolnikov - Fyodor Dostoyevsky (I like the variety of philosophy, psychology, and tragic story)
jiwwie
I don't know how OT this is, but riajose mentioned Aslan from Narnia, and I have to agree, he's too unforgettable.

They already have his voice-actor for the upcoming movies: Brian Cox. He was in Troy (Agamemnon) and X2 (William Stryker).

Eeee! Exciting!

^ Yeah, well, if your character is an allegorical representation of Jesus Christ, you have to be really unforgettable...

Yup, can't wait for the movie too...smile.gif

As for a movie character, Amadeus was also unforgettable. Gives you a glimpse of Mozart's idiosyncrasies and avant garde ideas. Definitely a man ahead of his time... Its so sad seeing the tragedy of a genius hence making it a very unforgettable movie...

dude! astig nga rin si benny. man, why the hell did i forget to include him? but uh lil ze da best pa rin. he's soooo mean that he's funny. its very rare to find characters like that. pare maganda kasi ngipin nun kapag tumatawa. mukha talaga demonyo. hahaha. yeah!

maghanap ka sa astrovision, alam ko meron sila city of god. tingin ko nga medyo sikat na yun compared to other foreign, non-hollywood films.

gusto ko rin si stifler. nakakatawang manyak na jock stereotype. doofus
supreme.

let me just add, yung character ni Roberto Benigni sa Life is Beautiful. forgot the name. dang. super galeng. medyo slapstick pero dalang-dala. wow.

i get the same feeling everytime i get to the parts where Aslan's there. yung nothing can touch you, everything will be alright biggrin.gif

other characters i love:
Helga from Hey Arnold!, nakakatawa siya e. the way she interacts with everybody, especially Arnold.

Ginger Foutley from As Told By Ginger. she has a great way of expressing herself, and she proves that nice girls aren't boring.

Meg Murry from Madeleine L'Engle's books. open kasi siya to the possibilities in life, and she lives with love, kindness and faith. she's like the sweet, inner kid in people.

Kevin Arnold from The Wonder Years. this is one of my favorite shows.

Florentino Ariza from Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Love In The Time of Cholera. hopeless romantic who gets the girl in the end biggrin.gif
Cami
Ron Weasley. I love him sa books! Haha! tongue.gif

Kapag anime, nako Kenshin na 'to and Soujiro/Soujirou (however the hell you spell it) Seta. Mwahaha. biggrin.gif

That creature on my avatar -- Linus from Peanuts.

Just for that purely shallow reason.

Hmm. If I know who you're talking about -- he kinda does look like Linus.
