Found out about Atenista.net through a college classmate (Psych batch '97) who's using the email service. And thought, "Cool!"

How long has this site been around anyway? (I just discovered it. Where have I been, you ask. Answer: work). And, is this an official Ateneo thing or is it run by a bunch of industrious alumni/students with a lot of time (and not to mention, moolah) on their hands?

At any rate, it's great. Kudos to you. (Maybe you can also work on our long-overdue yearbook. hehe Remember, Batch 97. Whatever happened to it anyway?!? If anyone out there knows, email me.)

I'd be surprised if no one's used this site as some kind of online personals/dating service. hehehe Kidding.

Seriously now...my feedback:

1. Noticed that some of the links (including the "About Us" link) aren't
working. It would be great if everything was dynamic.

2. Nice (i.e. functional, clean) layout and Web design. Could be a little more streamlined though. Smaller bolcks of text.

3. And, it's also nice that THERE ACTUALLY ARE feature articles. (Though haven't read any yet so can't comment on the writing...) It would be nice to write for this site. I could. One question: Do the writers get paid? hehehe

my my, after so many many years in the diaspora i could not believe my eyes that someone still knew the name of Fr. Galdon?

my concern is - what is the attraction of a lasallite in attending the ALS? in my many years at the "pen" [grade school, high school, College, and law school] i have seen fellows - yes guys - fellows from la salle knock at the portals of P.Faura to be admitted at the Eliazo Hall. but not the reverse - why?

After a year or so... maybe. But we have limited space for all the thread so we have to delete the older stuff to make room for newer ones.

I’ve noticed that most of the posts are not placed in their “proper” thread or topics. Parang kalat-kalat. I was hoping it was the job of the moderator to do that. Like sa College thread, meron dung topic about “have u ever liked somebody from a distance?” which I think is better put under the Pilosopo thread cuz basically it tals about views and opinions. Dami pa ng topics na totally out of place some even have the same topic na nakalagay sa isnag thread. Doble-doble…

This is MiloKELS, moderator of the College Forums. Actually, I've noticed these off-forum and double posts and have put up a notice in the topic "College Forums Suggestions/Complaints..." about this already.

The main problem of these off-topic posts is probably the fact that most of the traffic goes there meaning more people go there therefore resulting in more chances of replies in your posted topic. Double posts reason is probably not everyone visits every topic posted in a forum.

The description for Pilosopo is "Everything Zen and then some.", probably that is why such topics are posted in the College instead of Pilosopo. And if you check the Pilosopo forum, it mostly tackles universal or no exact answer questions and gets answered philosophically by the users.

For the college forum, you can suggest forums that need to be moved and/or deleted in the College Forum RULES (must follow) - Complaints/Suggestions Welcome! topic. I will look on them and take on proper action, whether it be retained, removed, or moved. Much like the reason on why there are double posts, I can't possibly check each topic in the forum everyday. Your suggestions will make my job easier and the forum users better.

If anyone has suggestions/complaints about topics in the College Forums, please direct your posts to the topic: "College Forum RULES (must follow) - Complaints/Suggestions Welcome!" I check it everyday, so most likely, you will get an answer on the same day. Thanks!

And I'll check on the "have u ever liked somebody from a distance?" topic ok?

For those who don't know, individual forums are handled by individual moderators, so if you see a problem on a forum, please direct it to the moderator involved.

yeah and i also noticed that ur search engine doesn't really work properly.

In what way does it not work properly?

i typed in a word and searched for it. there were many results but the word wasn't there. then i tried to search another word, the result was around 200 plus threads. so i left the search word box blank and searched for it and the same 200 plus threads came up.

What type of word?

I know that you can't use the search to search for names unless it's part of a message. You can search for the member number though.

Maybe you need to be a little more specific with the word. Because, back then I searched for a specific word and it produced many forums containing that word.

As for the blank search, i don't really know, maybe your browser shows the cached pages instead of the new ones?

Been on the forum a while now and I can't help notice that a lot of the posted threads have already gone stale. Some haven't even been returned to for whole months. Sports and Athletics already has 17 or 18 pages. Can't we install some kind of "Janitor Program" to automatically close and delete threads that haven't been posted on for maybe 10 days? I notice that the sheer mass of info slows down the opening and posting on the Forum. There must be a way for us to better monitor the postings. Gimme the good word.
