when i was buying NBA Authentics at the NBA store (i got Manu Ginobili's home and away jerseys and Peja Kings), i even wanted to get to get the retro stuff like the Ron Harper Cavs, Erving Sixers, Barkley Sixers, McHale Celtics and Wilkins Hawks but they were all so very expensive. heck, i even wanted a Sue Bird Seattle Storm (kaso pambabae). dude, Sue Bird rocks!!! but those retro stuff are hotshit right now. Allen Iverson and SLAM magazine deserve credit for starting that retro craze.

Remember when Nonoy Chuatico suited up for the National Team that had Jun Limpot, Marlou Aquino, Macky De Joya, Bong Ravena, Jolly Escobar etc? He was the lone Atenean on that team and was skipper for that all-star line-up. That was the year before he was drafted by Purefoods. astig. wish i still had that jersey he gave during those championship years. didn't fit me after a bit so i gave it away. dumb move.

Also the Arespacochaga jersey would be cool. If I'm not mistaken he's the last person to wear #9 for the seniors, since it's bad luck daw. Remember his season ending injury? The same superstition applied to the juniors' team. The '98 team in which Andrew Araneta wore # 9 was removed from the team due to a disciplinary case and also Paolo de Leon of the '99 team was injured badly.

So technically, #9 would really be in tribute to Sandy.

Nope. Last June 25, the Legends all wore puruntong shorts. (I was thinking the entire ensemble, not just the jersey, should have been retro, so that would have meant short shorts, knee-high tube socks and Chuck Taylor All-Stars.

I was just curious about the jersey numbers of the past Ateneo Basketball Legends, and also the other players that used the same number, that gave a terrific performance while wearing it. For example, #14 first Enrico used it and now Larry. Of course there was Arnaiz and now LA. Then, there was #17 for Olsen then Andrew Cruz and now Chris Tiu. #5 for Jun Reyes then Epok and now Macky. Maybe you guys could fill me in even back in the days of Arnaiz and further.
