I see FGT lurking here and I wanted to get this thread going again. Here is FGT's new masterpiece featuring
US again....

It is such a wonder.
Ranting, wailing and whining for the sudden unexpected reversal of fortune. Venting one’s venom to decry an injustice only feasible in their demented mind… but such incredible manifestation of lunacy is predictable especially if you are talking about a culture known for being soooo blue.
Not so long ago, we had our share of ranting. It was ugly but the criticisms were mainly concentrated on our community. We blamed ourselves: the players’ lack of heart, Pumaren’s coaching style as old and weary, our crowd being pathetic and our community’s apparent apathy. Actually, we’ve criticized everything in our midst… BUT we never passed our woes to others.
For us, the buck stops here.
Lately, the cloak of poise and the armor of demeanor once shielding the blue community’s hypocritical way have been brought into the light… exposed & revealed for what they are truly made of. Wimps and crybabies blaming everyone except for themselves! Passing the bucket – all the time, every time.
The UP-ateneo game was built up as the Battle of Katipunan and it was a revelation. It was an emotional game mainly due to the amazing streak by UP. In a big way, Ateneo did hype the momentum for their own vested interest, as they want to make a grand statement that they are truly the streak stopper. Unfortunately, the ateneans were deceived by their own lies, as invincibility is not an inherent trait. They came into the game expecting everything to come their way. They thought that they had a bigger heart and they thought that there was indeed a 6th man. They knew it was going to be a physical game and they believed the thugs in themselves would rise to the occasion and make a difference. But they were wrong. It was a rough and tough game that made the blue eagles look like wimps amidst the attacks of the barbarians rampaging their way. In the end, they blamed the referees for bad officiating and the UP Maroons for the punishing treatment they got but not themselves.
Later, when they realized that even with all the whining, nobody believes them. They got no support whatsoever from anyone as they looked like sour losers and wimps crying because they got beaten up well & good! The next thing they could possibly hope for is for UP to beat La Salle. They were so upbeat wishing and praying ill intentions to come our way. So be it, but never did I expect Ateneo to side with us especially when they have nothing to gain for doing so. Unfortunately for them, we did not follow the ateneo way during the game. Who in the right mind would follow such “girlie man” basketball? You know damn well that the opposing team plays rough & tough and you are still going to play your usual finesse game? … What a no brainer! Nevertheless, I’m not going to gloat over our win over UP. The Maroons are a classier player than the blue thugs. They may play rough & tough, but we do know to play the same. It was a gallant stand for the Maroons; it’s just so unfortunate that we have to meet them in a game when it mattered most to them and also for us. No doubt, I would rather have UP playing against us rather than the presumptuous blue squad. When the going gets tough, you just got to be tougher or else you would end up being beaten up!
That’s how it was, it is and forever will be… that’s the ateneo way – passing the buck and blaming others but never themselves.
Losing brings out the true color of a person. It’s either you put the blame on your own or you make sure to pass it to others. Owing the responsibility is the true man’s way… bitter it maybe, it’s going to help you in the long run. Passing the buck is the coward’s way, you may get away with it but you are just fooling yourself in the end.
We have been criticized for being too harsh and critical: on our players, our team, and whatever we see as imperfect BUT they are better than blaming others for the mistakes and woes we have created on ourselves. Our cheering sucks and we criticized it… so be it but we make the necessary move to improve it. Our players are playing senseless basketball and lacking in heart, we are going to criticize them to the hilt, not to ridicule them, but to point out the mistakes and for them to realize that nothing in the real world comes easy. We see our community having a sense of apathy, we acknowledged such problem exists but our awareness in accepting such problem is the difference we have from the other community. All the problems that they can throw to us are not being kept under false disguise; they cannot throw anything that we are not aware.
We do not blame others for our shortcomings. It is so easy to blame the referees but have they looked at their own mistake? It is so easy to ridicule the opponent for playing a tough “kanto” style of play but how come they did not adjust to it?
In a culture where greatness was thought to be an inherent right, definitely it is going to create problem especially when things do not go their way. It’s so easy to blame but once in a while, one must learn how to take responsibility, learn to accept the reality of life and be man enough to stand up for your own mistake.
We can easily do it because we do not have an aura of greatness beyond what we truly are. We are not a bunch of hypocrites pretending all the time that we are the chosen race. We have our frailties, our mistakes and our shortcomings… we have long accepted that such liabilities are part of ourselves. It is being human after all. But amidst all the unexpected things happening now in the UAAP, one thing remains unchanged…. It is the hypocrisy of the blue community.
We still have one game in the elimination round and that is against UE. We maybe feeling good at this point with a splendid second round record and going to the final four and still peaking but winning is not a sure thing. But one thing is for sure, whether we win or lose; we are not going to blame others for whatever is the outcome of our game. We may even come to a point of blaming ourselves, our players and our community again but so be it as long as we are not passing the buck. The Buck stops here; win or lose we are claiming it as our own responsibility.
But can they do the same? …. I doubt it very much!
Btw, lucky win by ateneo against NU! Nevertheless, one thing is for sure if we win against UE on Thursday, either Ateneo or FEU is going to join us with the same standing. Be it Ateneo or FEU in the final four, no prediction whatsoever, we are just going to play hard and tough basketball…. Bring it on!
