1. i take the bike than the car for distances less than 15km roundtrip; saves on gas and parking.
2. make baon for merienda, not only for lunch.
3. wait for preferred movies to come out on vcd than watching them at the cinema
4. avoid going to the malls
5. make pa-gas during rainy evenings, especially, rather than indiscriminately since i recall my chem teacher telling me carbon molecules are more compact at low temp and thus more cost effective by volume. am i correct here?

1) Bawas sa toma. Instead of every night, weekends na lang, at kung pwede sa simpleng bar lang, or sa bahay ng tropa, para menos gastos.

2) Withdraw from the ATM only what will tide me over for the week instead of the whole salary, para makaiwas sa impulse spending.

3) Nakikisabay sa mga ibang tao imbis na magmaneho araw-araw, menos sa gas at sa parking fees, wala pang sakit ng ulo sa trapik.

4) Tumatanggap ng research or writing jobs on the side para may extra income.

Handy Tip:

If you have friends in the AFP, enlisted or officers, ask if they know anybody undergoing or about to undergo any career schooling i.e. Joint Staff Course. These are usually already very senior officers or mid-level go-getters. Failure in career schoolings will impede careers or even result in discharge, so you can just imagine how badly these guys do not merely want to pass but to do well.

These guys have three problems:

1) They don't know shit about research.
2) They don't know how to write.
3) They don't actually have the time because they are still working at their regular assignments.

Here's what they normally require:

1) Six or Seven short research papers of 2000 - 3000 words each (roughly 9 - 10 typed pages)
2) One major thesis (called a Commandant's Paper, standard 45-50 page thesis)
3) Powerpoint presentation with manuscript (15-20 slides)

Going rates are:

1) P5000 per minor paper
2) P30,000 per major thesis
3) P10,000 for presentation and manuscript

Just make sure you can get along with the client, some of them get pretty testy. The jobs are for a period of roughly 6 - 8 months for the entire course. MNSA can be up to a year with many minor submissions.

Go get them guys!

back in 1995, while out of a job, i did a thesis for a police captain who needed it for his promotion. he paid me a total of 12,000. i thought i did a sh|tty job of it but he got his promotion and other captains were calling me for similar theses. i would have accepted but for the fact that i found a regular job shortly after.

I'd race with someone on the road :

1.) If I go first on a merging traffic - I win
2.) If he goes first on a merging traffic - if not for the traffic, I'd still have the chance. So, I win.
