According to the "report card" prepared by the House of Representatives committee on oversight chaired by Albay Rep. Jose Salceda, the Arroyo administration has consistently and substantially complied with its SONA commitments for the past three years - its accomplishment rate steadily rising from 63% of SONA targets in 2001, 67% in 2002 and 80% in 2003.

Arroyo got high marks in Agriculture - 92% (the report also noting the 90% completion of MALMAR irrigation project in Mindanao), Land Reform - 117.12%, Distribution of 100 ancestral domain titles - 182.45%, Housing - 137%, as well as in the fights against corruption, terrorism and illegal drugs. However she got low marks in commitments to construct new MRT lines, reduce power rates, modernize the police and armed forces, and put a school in every barangay.

Has the president really done a good job? Comments would be appreciated. smile.gif

What I have learned in 7 years of primary education, 4 years of secodary education, 4 years of undergrad university studies and 4 years of medical school (aray - add to that internship, residency and fellowship - S@@t tanda ko na) is that grades hardly matter in the real world. When I see a patient, I hardly get asked for my transcript of records. Like I said in earlier posts - the proof of the pudding is in the eating. IS the Filipino (not necessarily economic figures, mind you - look up equatorial Guinea - the fastest growing economy in the world and its povery index) better off? The answer to that question will judge her government (and past regimes as well).
