It has been rumored that google scans the text in your mails and looks for keywords. and then sends spam.

all of them do.

i use my_account@ateneo.edu for all of my business and personal trans.
its just for the sake of having the_name_you_want@gmail.com before someone else signs up for it. you wouldn't want to end up with a your_name_philippines_098@gmail.com.

Yes, google scans your email, just like Yahoo does. How do you think Yahoo is able to filter your bulk mail from your Inbox? Google scans your email but it is never done by human eyes, computers do this so they can send you ads pertinent to your email. I have a Gmail account and I am very satisfied with it. The ads are to the extreme right of your screen so you hardly notice them. If you have a gmail account, send invites to people you know so they'll know the difference. 1 gigabyte of space is sooo neat!!! I can upload all my pics so I can get them anytime, anywhere. Unfortunately, Gmail has only given me 1 invite and I've sent it to someone already, so I can't give any more invites.
