i'm sorry guys to tell you that our alma mater song was so out of tempo this afternoon in Araneta. i was watching and listening from the patron side and i can here 3 or 4 variations (slow to fast) of the hymm. May i suggest if the crowd is not that big with respect to the venue, say Araneta, to cue the fans with a simple drum beat especially during the first part of our Alma Mater Song. I can even hear one of the members of BBB or the band singing so fast and loud.
Over-all you guys did very well. Kudos to all of you.

sitting on the feu side i wasnt even able to detect that we were already singing the hymn medyo mahina ang pagkanta. and hindi nga pantay ang tempo..there were some parts na mabagal tapos biglang bumibils. hope you guys could fix that.
to the babble captain: good performance....konting ayos pa. i hope that against NU and all the other teams di na tayo mahuhuli sa pag cheer.
just wondering...someone mentioned in the other thread that an alumnus of thr banda (or member siya dati) helped in tuning their drums, maybe the rest of the "old members" could assist in helping the new babble and band members till they are already used to the way it used to be before. im not taking anything away from the talents of the present members ..para lang mas maging suave ang transition of cheers at pag senyas ng isusunod na cheer.
goodluck guys!

I want to make a request for the Babble to get more organized and practice their signals more effectively.
Another person already posted that he could barely hear the alma mater being sung and that he heard overlaps meaning the crowd was singing at different tempos.
Notes:
1) Are we bringing the tempo back to a more solemn one? During our championship run, we sung at a normal to fast pace which made for a more forceful alma mater. If the point is to make the alma mater more solemn, I'm all for it. I just hope everybody knows what you guys are trying to do.
2) Please coordinate... the Babble member beside me started singing so I followed only to realize that my entire section was about a stanza ahead. That's probably why some people thought the singing of the alma mater was weak.
3) The cheering was ok and the timing was fine. But please do something about the Band. For some reason, the drum rolls aren't as crisp and the pounding isn't as loud. Look back to last year when the Babble and Band was the pride and envy of all... there's still a lot of time to make adjustments.
We're all behind you and see you this Sunday!

I'd just like to remind the Babble that the teams - basketball, baseball, football, whatever - are supposed to draw strength from the crowd, not the other way around.
The job of the cheering squad is to generate the strength of the crowd. The heart and commitment of our cheerleaders is beyond question, but more is necessary in a concerted effort such as the one the Babble is supposed to be exerting at the games. I agree that there needs to be quicker reaction time with respect to the cheers. I think that is the root of the problem - most of the time the cheerleaders are standing around wondering what to make the crowd yell next. Even though there are some fans who won't wait for the Babble to start yelling "Get that ball" or whatever - I don't - most of them do.
As for the alma mater song - I think that until the synchronicity is worked out, someone's going to have to yell "Ready? Sing!" at us like we were in grade school to get the crowd started all together.

For the singing of the alma mater hymn, perhaps the Babble can lead the crowd, and use that "1-2-3" hand signal they use when about to start a cheer.

yes, the singing of the alma mater was indeed pretty disastrous. maybe it was because wala yung brass band unlike the first 2 games. or maybe because natalo nanaman tayo. or maybe, yea, hindi nga coordinated yung babble. my suggestion: tingnan niyo yung kamay ng babble habang kumakanta. sabay-sabay dapat yan. dun rin makukuha kung ano yung tempo ng pagkanta. siguro nga may ibang babble na hindi sabay yung kamay niya sa iba. anyway, this issue was already noted by the captain.. we should see imporvements in the coming games.

Congrats to the Babble today. Good job. Ample crowd coverage. Communication between the cheerleaders was now very evident. Sabay sabay na rin tayo kumanta ng alma mater. Ang kulang na lang is singing in the same key. Ang dami pa namang cheerleaders na di marunong kumanta sa tono. We really need a few brass to give the intro.

I agree, good going by the Babble yesterday. You guys were quicker to react this time and everyone actually more or less began to sing the alma mater song all together

And I think the Babble at the women's games sounds like a great idea. The Lady Eagles need the support as much as the guys do.
I wonder how to go about it, though? Do you write the admin? The Babble captain? The Babble manager? And who writes the letter? The Lady Eagles' coach? The fans? Hey, how about the team itself?
"Dear Babble,
Please show up at our game today. If you don't we will hunt you down and practice our hard fouls on you...no, just kidding.
We'd really love to see you there. And the Lady Falcons want to see you, too!
Love, the Lady Eagles."

Congrats to the Blue Babble Battalion and Band!
This was the best game so far cheering-wise. The people in my section were really cheering and the Babble assigned to us did a good job of pumping up the crowd.
And the Band... the beats were in-sync and thunderous. Kinda brought back memories of the previous seasons when our cheering crew was the best... come to think of it, the Ateneo cheering crew from the Babble to the fans still is the best!
Great adjustments and thank you for taking all the criticisms constructively.
A final note, I second the motion that the Babble come to the Lady Eagles games. They are a fighting team and for those who follow them, the Lady Eagles are basketball purists with sound fundamentals and perfect execution. It wouldn't hurt to support such a sound team. Imagine what they could do given a few drum beats here and a few Fabiliohs there.

Good going yesterday, Babble. The UP crowd definitely outnumbered us yesterday and they did out-cheer us during some instances, but on the whole I'm proud of how the Ateneo gallery held the fort - and of how the Babble marshaled the crowd's efforts

Request lang - I don't know if you're already doing this, but during timeouts maybe you guys could already agree on what to cheer so that when the buzzer sounds to signal resumption of the game, you can get the crowd to cheer right away. I have to say nainggit ako sa bilis ng reaction time ng UP kahapon.

one more question, why would you copyright a word from the dictionary?
If there is proof that an atenean "invented" that word and submitted it to an
official organization validating ownership, AND giving the rights to ateneo, then
it is possible to copyright the word.
