hey guys!
you can post here your comments and suggestions for the blue babble battalion here!
your input would surely be of great help and will be appreciated. cool.gif
*Ignatian*
the Blue Babble Battalion is THE elite force of cheering......

men and women trained and honed for igniting the Ateneo school spirit which makes the Ateneo crowd the most devastating "secret weapon" in the UAAP....

we live for the rush. we die for the school. we are the force behind ONE BIG FIGHT.

go babble...lead us in triumphant victory as well as in honorable defeat...

One Big Fight Babble.

you guys rock! biggrin.gif it would be nice to further more encourage the people sitting in the ringside and LB to cheer when we have games...observation lang ha minsan kesi di masyado nag-chicheer ang mga nakaupo dun....wala akong masabi sa UA and UB cause normally thats where all the fun is biggrin.gif

and sana our cheer dancers would have more new moves and stunts..it was really great seeing 'em in last years cheerdancing competition!.

and lastly...maybe hand-outs of cheers would help the young (kids) and teens and newbies to the lyrics of cheers..specially the halikinu and fabilioh!.

keep up the good work you guys! smile.gif
gaslighting_abbie

Can we get some horns to intro our "Ateneo, Ateneo, Oh oh oh Go and Fight" chant so that we can all sing in key?

I would love to hear the trumpet intro again leading to Hail Ateneo Hail!
waterbabe
We'd really appreciate it if the Blue Babble Battalion would come to our swimming meet during the UAAP because last year during the finals in the afternoon, DLSU's band was their to cheer each of their swimmers on. Sayang 'cause we had some medalists in the women's team pa naman plus there are new recruits that will assure Ateneo gold medals this year...

Thanks smile.gif

errrr... open pa ba ang bbb for recruits? a friend of mine who's an ma student wants to join, kung pwede pa. and this friend of mine also said that he has a good background in cheerleading but doesn't have a good backbone for lifting. LOL!@!

Can we make the beat for the X a lot faster?
*Ignatian*

thanks for your continued support and faith in babble and in our school!!!!

the BBB will be there with you guys all the way!!!! let's all rock the gallery together!!!! win or loose!!!!! let's all show them how much power the ATENEO crowd is capable of unleashing!!!!

SUPPORT ALL THE VARSITY TEAMS!!!! GO TEAM ATENEO!!!!!!

One Big Fight.

tryouts are still open!

so what will it be? cheerdancers (probably not) tongue.gif , cheerleaders, band, or lifters? biggrin.gif

the tryouts for each will be held on different days kasi eh. for the band, i think they've started their recruitment program already. tongue.gif

The best drum beats---Go Ateneo cheer...lively talaga. The Boomchika boom...ready on your left and right cheer...medyo corny talaga kahit na traditional cheer siya, walang impact. The best pa rin ang halikanu and 3 fights. Can we also cheer something new when the players are bringing down the ball? The clap clap clap fight cheer is okay, but its kinda slow and not a momentum getter. The fast version of the Get that BAll cheer is one of the best din.

Goodluck to the BBB this season!

I wish there is a continuous effort to teach the students "Fly High!" and "Hail Ateneo Hail". Are these songs still taught in the Grade School and High School. What about in college ORSEM?
bluestorck
yep i second that...miss hearing those cheers. i think the new students now aren't so familiar with the lyrics.

any new cheers...? biggrin.gif

once again you guys rock! biggrin.gif

Great drum beats last night! May kaunting sinok pa, as in some drums going off beat or falling silent all of a sudden, but otherwise great. Good job guys! I saw a lot of girls getting into the spirit of the cheers whenever they would hear the drumbeat roll intro to the Go 'Teneo cheer.

Constructive criticism lang. There is this tendency for our few horns (puro sax nanaman yata) to join the Ateneo 2x Go Fight chant, and most often they come in at a lower key and at a slower tempo. Rats, it just douses the enthusiasm already built up in the crowd. I really suggest na pang-intro lang and horns! Just to set the key, then all drums and voices takeover na. Wala pa bang trumpets?

There has to be a firm decision on whether or not to resurrect the band. Kasi kung half-hearted, buti pa hwag na lang. But if we DO want to resurrect the band, then at this stage dapat may recruitment email broadcast na si Jun Dalandan for brass volunteers. Then kung ano man ang kulang sa band, hire a few military guys to complement ours para lang makabuo na tayo ng matinong banda which CAN BE HEARD in Araneta. Just my thoughts on this perennial problem of ressurecting the band.

My thoughts exactly. May isang bass drum na nawalan ng focus... (papalit-palit kasi ng drummers kaya parang medyo sumablay) I mean nawala siya sa beat, saka medyo hindi ata nakatune yung drums, but it was fun. Medyo noticeable kasi andun ako sa mismong likuran ng band. But when we moved up in front, di naman na masyadong obvious.

Otherwise, astig. tongue.gif

Naku ang masasabi ko lang diyan...

Oh, hail Ateneo hail! On to the fray,
once more our foes assail in strong array!
Once more the Blue and White, wave on high
And sing our battle song, we do or die!

March on, march on, march on to victory!
March on, march on, march on with loyalty!

Hehehehhee.

waaaaaaaaahhhhh...palapit na ang season!..i hope you guys give the best this year (sabale lagi naman eh) kesi i think the team needs all the support, after a roller coaster off-season . biggrin.gif

go ateneo! one big fight!

oh yeah one more thing...observation 'to ng uncle ko who like me is a die hard blue eagle supporter, sana daw there wont be lapses sa cheering...kesi minsan daw biglang tumatahimik ang gallery. lang nag chi-cheer...it happened a couple of times last year. smile.gif

I don't think they weren't teaching the freshmen these songs anymore in 1995. Hanggang cheers and Victory Hymn lang yung naaalala ko. But in fairness, the BBB only had one period (PE class) to teach us whatever they could.

Bakit parang andali ng napapagod ang Babble ngayon, lalo ang mga nasa stands? I remember Babble guys like Jong Castaneda, Migs Rodrigo and Engoy Del Castillo were absolute dynamites in the stands, like the Energizer Bunny, all energy from tip-off to final buzzer. They were always the loudest voices, gaganahan ka talagang makisigaw. Ngayon parang, sige, bumabanat ng cheer, pero they can't seem to connect with the crowd throughout the entire game, there are lulls, unheard off up to about 6,7 or 8 years ago.

really? when do you notice this? it might be due to the new regulations that there can be no cheering during time outs and whenever the coaches are talking to the players on the court (between 1st and 2nd quarters and between 3rd and 4th). we know it's a crappy rule but we have to follow it nonetheless. actually, we've been cited numerous times before by the floor announcer reminding the ateneo crowd about the rule and that there would be penalties given if it was not followed. but then again, we sometimes get away with it especially during ateneo lasalle games. smile.gif i guess you can't stop the fury of both crowds with just a stupid set of rules. biggrin.gif
joescoundrel
Must be the rules then. Corny naman nila. HELLO! Its a COLLEGE GAME!

Pero still, I would love to see the Babble in 70's or 80's mood (and I don't mean Retro Jethro!) making like Mexican Jumping Beans or the Tasmanian Devil, whirling dervishes of Blue and White energy, taking up the cudgels themselves by shouting themselves hoarse and flapping their arms and clapping their hands and stomping their feet when the crowd is all cheered out.

There was a time back when games were still played in Rizal Memorial, folks outside always thought Ateneo was winning, because the damn cheering was THUNDEROUS! The Babble worked the crowd up so good the goddam drums were drowned out. Folks who took bets sometimes mistakenly paid up thinking Ateneo won because of the non-stop billion-decibel cheering, even though Ateneo then lost more often than won. Ateneo CHEERED HARDER when we were LOSING! 'Yan ang talagang WIN OR LOSE ITS THE SCHOOL WE CHOOSE!

If THIS is what these rules prevent now, they can all go f--- themselves! Who needs TV coverage anyway? The UAAP is, and will forever be, the greatest sporting event in the country. Jeez, even back when TV coverage was no great shakes, people still trooped to watch the games, there were always turnaway crowds, especially an Ateneo game, and more especially against DLRT.

kuwatromanson!
The current batch of the Blue Babble is probably the best batch ever assembled in Blue Babble History.

The Cheerdancers are the snappiest, yet at the same time most graceful group of girls in the short history of the girls' team.

The Lifters, though few, are some of the strongest men in the Ateneo.

The Battalion is composed of 20+ men who will stop at nothing just to make the people cheer their lungs out. Their voices may run out, but rest assured, their spirit will never falter.

The Band is still the well-oiled machine it was last year. With the acquisition of better instruments and solid recruits, it will continue to be the benchmark of all UAAP bands.

rest assured, the BBB will do its best to make you guys proud....

win or lose, what matters most to us is that we stand united behind our school colors with heads held high, amidst the drowning cheers of the ADMU crowd...

see you guys in the stands!

Ateneo Crowd: One Big Fight.

thanks for all your support!

i agree with joe....sobrang lakas talaga ng cheering dati specially when fr. edgar martin was there .....i hope the BBB would be able to do that again though i know na hindi madali yun.

its nice to know that we have a great batch of recruits this season!

looking forward for a great season ahead!

i beg to disagree. i was a member of the BBB from 94-96 (the last batch of all-male BBB) and even then we never stopped cheering even if Ateneo was down by 20points! biggrin.gif this was before the renaissance of Ateneo Basketball, the time when 95% of the team were homegrown talents from Ateneo high we always ended up 6th or 5th place in the UAAP but from the cheering from the stands you'd think we were slugging it out for the championship! tongue.gif

would you guys have new uniform for this year?.... just curious lang. kesi normally cute ang mga uniforms niyo. lalo na when guess was the sponsor even BOOM gonzalez was floored when he saw our lady cheerleaders( actually i think they always have that effect on the male population wink.gif ).

kung may mga bandana pa kayo ng lee pipes pahingin naman...everytime kesi it gets distributed la kami nakukuha eh. my pamangkin and myslef would love to wear them on july 11 (hint hint ) hehehehehe. wink.gif
*Ignatian*
as a matter of fact, we DO have new uniforms this year sponsored by lee pipesn and hopefully they will be ready in time for july 11

unfortunately, we weren't able to "suit up" yet during the cheer rally coz tryouts were not yet done at the time so we had to wait for the new members' measurements before all of us can wear the new uniforms and jackets biggrin.gif

yup, those bandanas really get consumed quickly once we distribute them! hehehe

but we always try to bring the most we can and spread out the distribution...sometimes, you just have to be at the right place at the right time i guess! but of course, we always prioritize givng them to the kids in the crowd

see you guys on the 11th...

One Big Fight

thanks for the info! biggrin.gif ah...alam ko na if you see a girl around 5ft 1 waving her hands crazily and shouting..promise to hand me one okay hehehehehehe biggrin.gif im hoping to get tickets kahit UA lang uli this year....cant wait to see the bbb in full battle gear this season. more power! smile.gif

The stupid UAAP rule is once again being implemented this year.Cheering will, once again, be prohibited during timeouts.Let's all defy this rule by not letting the stupid courtside barker stop us from cheering. Our gallery is our advantage.Sure, other schools cheer too but Atenean Cheering is an institution in itself. It belongs to a different category.Heck, it has its own category! Our crowd is what will be hit the most with this stupid rule. This is the only league in the world that prohibits fans from cheering YET charge admission! Ano ito Golf?Tennis? This is a friggin' basketball game!

Let's help the Blue Babble whose hands they have tied.Let's cheer EVEN DURING TIMEOUTS! It's up to us, the fans, to do this!
bluestorck
pare easy lang....ang iyong puso biggrin.gif as always we never normally follow that rule, ilang beses na tayo natatawagan ng warning but the gallery still cheers. i think they wont be too tough on us kesi mejo exception pag admu vs dlsu game smile.gif

let us all cheer for our team this sunday!....we need a champion crowd to cheer our team to victory! cool.gif

go ateneo! one big fight! ph34r.gif

double post!
Dear Jessie
Hey guys. Last time I watched in Upper A was in 2002, Game 2 of the finals. Our Babble guy was medyo nahihiya pa to cheer really loud. Mas malakas pa kami magcheer (sans the body movements). Hope everyone's game this time around =) Regardless, we'll still cheer our lungs out!
andthensome
you guys always have the coolest uniforms. sinong gumawa nung parang bodysuit na may butas sa waist? that one was really nice. ganda ng effect. siyempre ang mga girls, cute pag naka skirt tongue.gif sana nasa squad pa si nikki. wink.gif
about the cheering during time outs, para sa akin, sundan lang natin yung rule para hindi tayong magmukhang ignorante at bastos. bawi na lang paggame na!!!
One BIG FIGHT!!!

I passed by the BEG last night and saw the BBB huddling around Miko Halili and Coach Sandy. Just curious, what was the meeting about?

I also saw about 4 brass band members practicing. How many horns do we have?
bluestorck
if i remember right..guess was the BBBs sponsor that time, yep the ladies were really great ang ganda ng effect on them. kaya im really curious on the new uniform now.

oh yeah special mention si kaiser (im not sure with the spelling of his name lang) my pamangkin likes the way he cheers kesi todo daw and he could get even the dullest guy/gal to cheer loud.

goodluck guys on sunday!

hmmmm baka may gimmick ang eagles na kasama BBB...abangan! biggrin.gif

babble uniforms are always the coolest!!!!

can't wait to see the BBB in action this sunday! especially paolo!!!! wub.gif

DLSU ripped off our Blue Babble Band's Drumline innovation. We were the first school to introduce that concept in the local scene. We actually did pretty well in MTV's Drumline comp wherein we finished 2nd.

Oh well...they must really admire us and our ideas huh?

true true, pati nga ung bonnet ginaya e... they also ripped off the idea of playing all of the schools' cheers, the band did that during last season's awarding ceremony.

Dapat any of the following companies should sponsor the DLSU PEP Squad: Xerox,Canon,Fuji,Minolta etc etc...

DLSU PEP master of panggagaya! No originality, mediocre recreation of our masterfully done performances.

During the half time break and when Ateneo was cheering, the camera showed a line of Ateneo lifters. Two of them were not even opening their mouths. They were not helping cheer at all. Do they deserve to be in the Babble? The other lifters were helping in the cheers.
