[COLOR=blue]In regards to what I have seen in the news here in the states, it seems that the election was not a major success. There were still a lot of loopholes for adding election vote in the ballots (black-outs, voters ink identification, missing names in the voter’s packet). Anyway who do you think won? Since in the polls GMA and FPJ seems to be in a close race, I wonder how did the Filipino masses voted. blink.gif

my personal view.

the fpj side is trying to get the sympathy of the people to join them in holding a rally like another edsa, or what they call ayala 1. i mean fpj is going to lose and his funds are dwindling.

it really looks like that GMA is going to win.

according sa mga bilangan ko during my shift sa namfrel ovc... mejo close fight between gma and fpj. kakainis nga eh, di ba narerealize ng mga tao kung sino si fpj para maging president of the philippines.. or.. the highest position in the country???

ehehehe..

I think GMA will win whether by cheating or not.

Filipinos like it better to show their stupidity in these rare occasions. For Pete's sakes, what the f--- does FPJ have to offer to actually be worthy to become this pathetic country's next president?!

God knows how we so need a true leader nowadays! It just goes to show that we are still the "indios" the spaniards have conquered. We are willing to embrace anything that anyone would tell us! Goodluck in people idolizing stupid actors! Worst, voting them to the highest seat in their land!

One reason why I never really liked to vote.. Not that I can--thank God I am not a Filipino citizen!

just checked the NAMFREL Quick-Count results via Inquirer, GMA's lead is a little less than 1.5M already. even if we factor in widespread local cheating, i think GMA would still win by a respectable margin.

i hope GMA wins. even if she cheated, it's okay with me.
[chaitanya]
of course gma will win. what's the use of being in her current position if she wont use it? she has the power, she's in control. masasayang nga naman ang pagkakaupo nya kung di nya rin magagamit. bakit hindi?

tsktsktsktsktsk

GMA, your President, not mine, has no other option but to win this election. If she loses, the whole gang will not fit in the Bilibid Prison to be inrcerated.

Pag Atenista ka ba, ibig sabihin pro-Glory o Pro-Cory o pro-Eddie ka??

Are we also nincompoops if we prefer otherwise? Maybe they are teaching you well these days compared to our time. Now you can do the right choices kasi "enlightened" na kayo??? Tulad nina Ms. Shut Up Pido, na IV Year yata ngayon sa CAS, maybe it pays to be pro administration of GMA. Anything, they can do, can be tolerated if it favors this government/camp of GMA/Eddie/Cory.

Nagkantahan na sa Congress, nag-Walk-out sa Impeachment, OK lang yun, sabi daw. Even the biggest crook in the land can be tolerated as a witness. Kasi, The end justifies the means. And now, they admonish us to observe and follow the law, the constitution, when they themselves threw it out before???

Tama si Senator Avelino: Para que estamos en poder!!!!

GMA won the minute the surveys showed she had a slim lead over FPJ. Even if the Administration cheated, that's ok by me. All the liberals keep saying if the Administration cheated it is a black day for democracy. I got new for you, when Erap was elected THAT was a black day for democracy. If GMA doesn't win FPJ becomes President. THAT would be an unmitigated apocalypse! All the liberals and Christian talibans said either Roco or Bro. Eddie would make the best President. Even granting that, Roco has dropped out after a truly f---ed up campaign, and Bro. Eddie is trailing even goddam Ping Lacson. There are many ways to mess with democracy, just as there are many ways to abuse it. In this country, you live with what you can, because always living in the "how-things-should-be" and "fight-the-good-fight-tilting-at-windmills" idealism DOES NOT WORK HERE! Jeez, just take a look at the Senate lineup! Thanks to democracy we now have Bong Revilla, Lito Lapid and buttf---ing Jinggoy Estrada as honorable senators of the land. Believe me when I tell you the last thing you want is for this to be a "fair and honest" election where FPJ becomes our next President! Its good to be idealistic because it lights your way, but for godsakes, not to the point where you become blinded by your own light and trip along the very rough, muddy and dangerous road called REAL LIFE!

We Filipinos have learned our lessons. I'm pretty sure, GMA will win the election for the presidency. According to the unofficial count from NAMFREL, GMA is leading with 12M+ votes. A million plus votes edge against FPJ's. Maybe, the opposition knows this very well. Maybe, they do know that GMA truly is the winner, that is why they keep on delaying the canvassing of votes at the Congress by their nonsense queries and requests.

I wish, FPJ will stop making his pathetic protests and proclaiming himself as the winner. If he truly believes that COMELEC is inefficient of doing their jobs, why would he raised the hands of the 5 senators from his political party during the oath taking? He did not protest regarding the results. It plainly shows that he believes in the credibility of this agency. So, why must he act like a sore loser by not abiding with the procedure of the Congress?

Whoever loses should accept his fate and move on with their lives. They should respect the rule of law and be a gentleman. If they truly want to serve the public, there's always a way to do so. cool.gif

Well, GMA cannot afford to lose this election. That is why she will spend everything and disburse all funds in her administration to win. Or else.....

And we all know a "miracle" has occured. The Philhealth cards, pork barrel releases, to the Gloria Signs at the back of the streetworkers and the Road signs that proclaim her "road maintenance" project as well as the many ads on tv, print and radio show that indeed, a lot of money flowed out...of the government's coffers???

This adminstration will do anything to win.

As for NAMFREL, oh well, since 1985 I already knew that they are up to something not good...maybe for the people behind them and their supporters they are the light of lights that will show the country that they are doing this for the good of our countrymen.

Did you volunteer?? oh, well...

i really think that gma won but its impossible to tell whether she cheated or not.. unsure.gif

What is there to tell? Cheating can be done by anybody with the money and the know-how. The Administration may have an advantage being in power and all, but take a look at the so-called Opposition KNP. They've got the guys who pratically perfected systematized election cheating: Juan Ponce Enrile, Kit Tatad, Ernie Maceda. HELLO! Do the words MARTIAL LAW ring a bell!? And speaking of coming clean, how about the fact that a young lawyer named Raul Roco used to spearhead the administration of the Coconut Levy milked from the blood and sweat of small coconut farmers as the lawyer of one Danding Cojuangco. How many here still know Roco used to work for San Miguel Corporation when "The Boss" was Chairman during the Marcos years? Ditto Ed Angara. So please, if we must talk of cheating, let's talk about it en toto.
unholybeauty
You're right, happy soul. What would they gain by delaying the canvassing? If they really are confident that FPJ won, dapat sila pa yung atat na atat na matapos na ang canvassing.

I think GMA won this election. And as to crying foul over alleged cheating, shouldn't they have known what to expect come election time, and prepared counter-measures accordingly?
AnimoTeneo
I wish that the incumbent won. Everything is just such a typical "filipino" style, alot of people would disagee and then have these stuff just to slow down everything. I wander if the politicians are really the voice of the people. I guess the idea that "politics is local" doesn't work. Sayang lang talaga ang potential ng ating bansa. When will the people learn, if we imply this thought and keep blaming the masses who voted for the unqualified politicians they would just say that this is another plot against the poor from the upper class. dry.gif
