its rare to find serious girl gamers.. serious, meaning they really want to play video games, and not just socialize..

counterstrike is the best example for this.. there was even this article on some girly magazine that says : "one way to meet guys is through counterstrike"..

and there are also girls who would think video games are childish.. and if they want to be childish, theyd rather stick to their barbies than to the console..

pinagsisihan ko yun... i had cs pala here in the house but i didn't know i had it. by the time i knew i had it, i hated it na kasi di nako pinansin ng bf ko at the time (cs na lang daw.) hehehe!

define "serious girl gamer." kasi when i played ff8, i acquired the tonberry king gf just so i could get the ability call shop para magshopping lang. hehehe! parang hindi ako papasa dyan sa standards mo.

A. be able to quote gamer ethic and ethos
B. have familiar grasp of gaming history
C. acquire adept skills in practical and theoretical gaming
D. be knowledgeable about gaming contemporaries and current gaming issues
E. Lose a minimum of 2 hours of sleep daily to gaming duties

Any of you played in Hobbystop? My girlfriend used to play there, and she kicks arse big time there. Kilala nga siya ng POSY eh, friends ng sister niya (who kicks more arse in CStrike than my GF).

We don't play much anymore though, simula ng naging kami, medyo napakaunti na lang yung aming gaming sessions. Although we still play WC3 paminsan-minsan.

Dunno if meron sa inyong naabutan yung "+++" na girls sa Hobby. They were really GOOD, even better than Chiq@$$ or them Chingg@s...

There are lots of emulators for all sorts of consoles. I've recently played Twin Bee and Battle City, tsaka Chrono Trigger and FF6 sa mga emulators ko.

I'm a girl gamer and there's nothing more satisfying than kicking the ass of an "akala mo kung sinong sobrang galing" dweeb.

I had my share of that when I made it to the semi-finals of a tekken tag tournament (Ogre-True Ogre). Ang kakapal ng mukha ng ibang tinalo ko! Acting as if hinde pa daw nag-start yung round or pinagbigyan lang ako! Ulol nila!!!

It was my best guy friend who beat me, kaya ok lang kasi alam kong mas magaling siya sa kin.

I like CS a lot pero sawa na ako. Had my share of tournaments with my buddies. I also experienced some dweebs who actually tried to teach me to play CS despite the fact that I had the top score during that time. Sus, porke babae ako, di ako marunong mag-CS? Napahiya pa yung mga ibang leche when I pressed the tab button to show my rank.

Right now I'm really into WarCraft III. Night Elf Rules!!!

I also collect NES ROMS...and I'll definitely buy a PS2! I'm gonna start practicing Steve Fox of Tekken 4!!!

Hoy I played Magic! I have a lot of cards. Hanggang Mirage na lang ata ako eh.

My last two decks before I quit were pure blue phasing deck and pure green barb foliage deck.

I experimented with a green-white basilisk deck (dagdagan ng lure para patay lahat ng creatures ng opponent), a counter-blaster deck (alam kong cheap deck to). Aether Storm deck para no creatures (except artifact creatures), Thalid deck (kaso I dismantled it nung na-classify na siya as type 1) and some other decks I can't remember the concept.

Pride ko yung Ice Age Jester's cap ko.

I once joined a tournament with my boyfriend, partners kami 2-on-2 yung concept. Counter-blaster deck ko and crusader deck niya. Yari lang kami nung nakalabas ng Zurs Weirding, Milstone at Ashnod's Cylix yung opponent namin to the semi-finals. Bayad dito, bayad duon leche! Lib death tuloy. Insulto talaga...

Oh well, di ko na tinuloy after Mirage, nagsawa na ako. The only deck na natitirang buo pa rin is my Pure Green Barb Foliage Deck, probably the most annoying deck I ever had. Nandun sa boyfriend ko minsan nilalaro pa rin niya against some of his magic playing friends, kakainis daw.

Nawala ng isang former friend ko yung Blue Phasing deck ko. Leche siya! Andun pa naman Jester's cap ko.

Do you still have your counter-blaster? By any chance, is it a Counter-Phoenix deck? I'm looking for Hammers of Bogardan and Shard Phoenixes. Oh, and another set of Force of Wills never hurt anyone. Kasi if you still have it, alam mo, kikita ka nang maraming pera. A set of Forces, a set of 'Nixes, cost 1000 php each. A set of hammers can go as high as 500 php. O, 2500 kagad yon!

Hammer, hmmm, I gave it to my boyfriend para sa red-green fast deck niya. Anyway it was a real cheap counter and toast deck pero panay revised yung cards ko. When I made that deck la pang hammer of bogardan. Kung baga hanggang Ice Age lang siya. I long dismantled it. Now my red cards went to my boyfriend kasi inayos niya yung red-green fast deck niya and I kept the blue for my phasing deck na incidentally nawala ng former friend ko. Yeah I'm bitter about it.

Masaya pa naman phasing deck. Lalo na if you get 2 shimmers out and single color yung opponent mo. Di na siya makakapaglaro ng land.

Para sa kin, the best ang white wienie crusader deck. Ni Red-Black land D, hirap matalo ang crusader.

I am not familiar about the prices these days but I think I can still get a good price for some of my remaining cards. Pero as I said, nandun na siya sa boyfriend ko and he still plays magic occasionally.

White weenie crusader? Yeah, staple deck type yan. Lalo na kung may Keldjoran Outposts ka.

Red-green stompy ba? Yung 3rd turn Shivan Dragon type? Tsk. The search for Hammers continues...

My bestest favoritest deck is my Tolarian Academy. Syempre pang casual lang siya, it's a banned (meaning uber-powerful) deck.

Yeah, that sort of Red-Green. Dinagdagan na niya with that 3/3 elephant that come out if you sacrifice a forest (forgot the name)

Yung isa kong kaibigan may 5 color dragon deck na sobrang bilis. Tapos may ouch lands pa siya. Nakakayanan ninyang ilabas yung mga 7 to cast Elder Dragon Legends niya in a few turns. Grabe talaga!!!

Nope, di siya Black Reanimator, 5 color dragon deck talaga siya. I've played against it a few times nung naglalaro pa ako ng magic. Andun kasi yung mga wienie dragons that you sacrifice to bring out the Elder Dragon Legends kaya mabilis. Ang lupit talaga nung deck na yun.

3 Elder Dragon Legends - Chromium, Nicol Bolas and Vae Victus Asmodi aside from the Shivan Dragon and plus mga weinie dragons na pang-sacrifice lang talaga para out agad yung Elder Dragon Legends niya.

Marami ring girls na naglalaro ng magic cards... I know lots who play (or used to) play magic cards...

I think alot of girls play WC3 too... as well as Counter strike... etc... etc...

Speaking of WC3... arggh... i hate those NE mass huntresses technique.... sobrang cheesy... although still a valid technique so can't say anything about it...

Anyway i digress...

You think mass huntress sucks? Try playing against someone who uses the Dread Lord + 5 Zombies rush. I tell you, if you're not playing Humans, you have zero chance of survival.

But I don't use mass huntress. I rush the tech tree and get - mass chimera! All your base are belong to us. Hehehe.

What's cheesy is the Orc rush attack where you also built guard towers near the base of the opponent. Up to now lugi ang Night Elf sa ganitong attack kasi the archers are too weak against the grunts who happen to be 1st level for the orcs, and you still have to build a hunter's hall to get the huntress out and that means mining more resources. Kaya lugi talaga. Nag-iisip pa rin ako ng strategy against this. The other races can easily counter this rush attack pero ang Night Elf lugi. But on the contrary, pag-pinatagal ang Night Elf, sobrang hirap talunin.

Hmm... never used that Orc guard tower rush thing... Mass huntresses nakakaasar lang kasi mabilis magawa... but then again... siguro di lang ako sanay magmicro... Seen those dreadlord and ghouls rush... alam ko kapag sinamahan pa iyan ng Necro and Dark Knight... eeek!!! But then again, just make sure that they don't reach that point daw...

Ako... wala akong technique talaga eh, depends on the game lang... although i usually use raiders to rush people who use NE... madali kasi masira yung Tree... but otherwise... i have no real technique... besides, am not that good anyway... hehehe

Girl gamers... Haven't met any... A rarity indeed... Wish I could though... Kahit sa block man lang or sa friends (but then again, Mr. Godlike Demon, kaunti lang kaibigan mong babae)... Hmmm... Astig sanang makalaban sa Tekken 4... Wala akong makakajombag sa bahay...

I don't know if this makes me a gamer as you guys call it but...

I've been playing videogames since the family computer. I finished supermario bro when I was in first grade. I played Nintendo (the one with the big tapes) then Super Nintendo, Sega, Playstation, Playstation One and Nintendo 64. I got all the stars in Mario 64, finished James Bond: Golden Eye... I finished Final Fantasy 7; completed all limit breaks except for Aeris, got all the ultimate weapons and summons (nothing beats KoTR)...

Why? Because it's fun and I grew up playing videogames with my sister, brother, cousins and my very own DAD.

Ano nga ba ang Gamer? Para sa akin, basta naglalaro ka dahil nasasayahan ka sa paglalaro ng nilalaro mo, Gamer ka na...

oa ka!!! pero honestly, i almost got kicked out of admu partly because of starcraft and warcraft 3, di na ako natutulog nun!!! pero sa totoo lang, kahit naglalaro ako ng warcraft3 for about an hour a day, parang i don't qualify for any of your qualifications as a serious gamer... i don't even know those "strategies" that you poeple are talking about...

can anybody suggest a good website where i can probably know more about warccraft strategies?

btw, the good thing about being on loa and staying here in davao is the P15/hour computer rental/netwrok gaming rate... and it goes as low as P10/hour pag gabi kaya lang wala akong kalaro!!! in almost all internet cafes ive played in, most guys play either counterstrike or starcraft...

GUYS, please lang, wag kayo masyadong mag marunong kapag nakakita kayo ng babaeng naglalaro, KAKAASAR YUN!!!

y dno't you just download the emulator off the net? try kazaa or something. may ps emulator na rin yata e.

Download a Nes Emulator. Nesticle and Jnes are the best for Nes Roms. You can find them all over the web, just have the patience to look for the games. I've got a whole CD full of nintendo games.
