guys... some of you i guess know that doom 3 is coming soon, though it was said to be released by 2003 pa.

neway, any comments about them? notice the little details sa texture? seems it's realistic and scary too, since ang sabi, that's one of their goals daw, to terrify the gamers. hehe! i'm sure this will be a sure classic again.

there are even rumors about having a video that leaked on the net, parang preview at gameplay video ata yun. try to look nalang, and i'll look an rin for myself.

gusto mo ng game na matatakot ka talaga? usually naman yang mga 1st person games na "horror" yung genre walang kwenta e.. di nakakatakot..

kung ako sayo.. maglalaro ako ng "Clock Tower" sa playstation.. kung wala kang playstation.. DL kang PS emulator.. yun ang nakakatakot na game talaga kasi wala kang baril, wala kang kahit anong weapon.. ang meron ka lang, mga lugar na matataguan at mga paso.. heh.. talagang tataguan at tatakbuhan mo si "scissorman" para mabuhay..

kung ayaw mo ng crappy graphics ng ps.. hintayin mo Clock Tower 3.. mukhang astig e.. yung clock tower 2 kasi ang sagwa e..

Scare factor games? Subukan nyo Clive Barker's "The Undying" for PC. Pangalan na nga lang ni Clive Barker takot na ako. Have you read his novels? *Jeezus* :eek:

From what I've read so far (and seen on screenshots and the E3 & QuakeCon footage) the aim of iD Software is horror instead of run and gun. The articles and intervews are worth a read if you want to know what's in store.

yup. seen the pix...and yes, the feel of Doom is more of horror than FPS. I agree.

malamang magiging flop rin to kapareho ng mga "horror" shoot-em-up games..

tancha ko parang return to castle wolfenstein ang labas nito e.. hindi talaga siya magiging "horror" kahit kelan..

mukhang meron nanaman "mutated monsters" jan na ewan e.. or mga zombies na mukhang ewan rin.. kelan ba marerealize ng mga gumagawa ng games na hindi nakakatakot yung mga ganong klaseng kaaway sa shoot-em-up? sus.. kahit mga multo di nakakatakot..

ang game lang na may multo na talagang nakakatakot "Fatal Frame" bili kayo non, para sa ps2..

Hindi naman horror yung Return to Castle Wolfenstein eh. Action yun. It pretty much lived up to the original except na pumaget yung gatling gun (Dapat hindi nag ooverheat. Baduy naman kasi eh.)

Doom III will focus more on horror, pero yung horror part hindi naman makikita sa itsura lang ng kalaban eh. Nasa ambience din ng game yan, kaya nga napakadaming features na pinapasok nila para masfeel ng players yung game:

• Bump mapping on the textures. In other words, yung dating mga flat lang na pictures (textures) na tinatapal sa polygons (models), pwede nang lagyan ng third dimension. Ex. Yung mga crack sa pader, hindi na nakadrawing lang, may crack talaga, pero yung wall mismo flat (labo ba?). Ang idea is to use less polygons, but still make it look like it has a lot.

• Realistic light & shadows. As seen on the Feb 2001 footage, hindi na bilog yung shadows sa ilalim ng tao. Models can cast shadows on themselves. When the light sources move, the shadows will move accordingly. Multiple lights mean multiple shadows.

• Built in editor. Wala nang download-download ng ek-ek kung gusto mong gumawa ng skin/model/map/MOD/whatever.

• Dolby 5.1 support. One of the first video games to have this. Parang overkill nga lang . . . Music & sounds done by that Nine Inch Nails guy (kalimutan ko yung pangalan). Bale, MTV quality sounds and music.

• Life-like physics & collision detection. Small example is monsters roll down stairs realistically. Hindi kagaya sa Counter, parang 2 x 2 . . . This system applies to almost eveything in the game, allowing to to shoot boxes to make them spin accross the floor, things to fall off the table if something bumps into the table really hard . . .

• Tamad na ako. Aral pa ako AP. smile.gif
