( no cheat mode
)Oh this is classic.
Well, the runners aspect is optional in the end, but it's good practice to try and complete it. Keep your gargoyles in place to neutralize all runners.
However, you are left with two choices from this point on.
You can take your undead forces to sweep the town where the runners are coming from first to increase your experience, maybe search for potential loot.
Or...
Ignore the runners and go straight down and challenge the main elf settlement. I tend to prefer greater numbers versus expensive troops. Creepers remain the most balances as long-range units that can cast web to neutralize fliers. Necromancers are fun since they can be set to autocast skeletons to support your forces. Maybe about 4-6 necros works nice, then the rest are creepers and your initial gargoyles.
You must elimnate the forces of the base itself before even appoaching the guardians to be sure. Also, attack with a maxed out battle group (use up all available supply) when you attack the settlement. Resupply before attacking the guardians.
Have your forces come in from multiple directions but focus on no more than 2 of the guardians at a time. Diversifying your entry will allow you to limit the negative effects of the guardians defending a bottleneck position. Necromancers are useless at this point since there will be no corpses to attack unless you actually use meat wagons as corpse supply trucks.
No more than 3 meat wagons in any mission. SAyang supply.
If you're still playing, hope this helps.
